amazing hardcore JRPG, but honestly not that hard once you'll understand its mechanics with debufs and weaknesses

i would rather say it is perfectly balanced around available demons and abilities so the game is just very challenging but fair

most of the dungeons are filled with teleporting ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ and it's really annoying, but the combat and fusing mechanics are just great and fun to deal with

It's hard to put it into the words but there is something alien and surreal with this game that definitely should be experienced first hand

minimalistic plot combined with its oppressive atmosphere made it memorable and unique

the music is very memorable too and it fits the game's tone perfectly

also featuring Dante from the Devil May Cry series

gonna play again soon for the true demon ending

post-ironic cliche tropes done right with some Yoko Taro influences (don't ask me why)

ultimate bedtime fairy tale with great characters and fantastic vibes living in a world of Akira Toriyama's artwork

- music is a letdown but you have an option to use the DQ VIII overworld theme so do that
- default overworld music theme is rage quit inducing EAR CANCER
- i'd recommend using "stronger monsters" draconian option because the default game is too easy in the beginning
- Act 2 was a drag but for a reason
- Act 3 is not a "post-game"
- Act 3 is what really makes this game special and unique, it IS essential to the story and actually pretty amazing and extremely satisfying
- this game is better than final fantasy VII remake

could have been better if not the ear cancer music and strange difficulty curve, but you know what?

This is one of the best survival horrors ever made and the closest thing to the original Silent Hill by Team Silent

There are some ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ platforming sections, but this game is still incredible, with amazing sound deeply influenced by Akira Yamaoka

I'm very happy that this game has a real cult following because it really deserves it

Well:

- simplified lightning
- hilariously excessive amount of ammo and health pickups
- some enemy encounters were removed
- worse graphics
- less mod support
- some audio effects are mixed badly
- freezes while saving
- unskippable cutscenes
- muzzle flashes no longer create light sources

Mounted flashlight cuts off big pile of horror from this game

Keep in mind this is bad first person shooter it's more like survival horror game with weak protagonist

If you want definitive Doom 3 horror experience - play the original game with Redux 2.0 mod

If you want more action packed first person shooter with infinite ammo - play Doom 3 BFG

Edit: I found mods which fix everything wrong with BFG Edition and this is the best way to play Doom 3 lol

Think of it as a horror-focused Doom prequel/spinoff. Honestly this is still fantastic survival horror/action game which can be really really terrifying at times. Also sound design is incredible.

It's good but find a way to play the original Ninja Gaiden II. Sigma is good, but it's like completely different game.
