I've played my fair share of this category of game, and I think for these games, the characters are crucial to making the world feel alive and compelling. Fae farm did not achieve this in my eyes.

The world is crowded. Theres soo many npcs and barely any of them seem to have any depth. The market place has 8 npcs there permanently stationed when they're open, and completely unromancable, to put it into perspective.
They have filled this world with NPCS but only have 6 that are romancable (and of those, you can only speak to 2 at the beginning of the game, you have to unlock other areas/story events to meet the other 4, so get to the mines). Meanwhile, the second you have a story quest active or just finished one that'll be all you hear about from the npcs. Everyone has 4 different variations of the phrase "thanks for clearing those vines!" that I heard constantly for a while. Beyond flat, most of these characters.

The visuals are stunning and I really enjoyed the mines but the rest of the game feels lacking to me. Most of my negative thoughts revolve around the lack of interaction with npcs and how flat that makes the game feel, which kept me from playing past the end of chapter 2, so take that as you will. Maybe it gets better after that, but I can't say.

Early Access Review
Very graphically polished, the mechanics and optimization are very *early access* but they've just launched and I can already say I love the game. The gameplay varies between Murder Cases and side jobs, which you can take from bulletin boards next to phones. I've been enjoying it however it does make my computer heat up faster than an easy bake oven.

10/10 solving crimes and baking brownies on my laptop

Early Access Review
So just to be clear, this is in no way finished - however I still loved it. Even in the state it is right now I had an amazing time with it, the gameplay reminds me of a top down (ish) Raft on peaceful. Its charming, its cute, it had a HUGE tech tree for a game that literally just launched in EA but alas I had a solid ~20 hr of gameplay before I got the ending sequence. The game makes no attempt to pretend to be finished, letting you know exactly where and what doesn't work or isn't quite finished, which I found to be refreshingly transparent in respect to the other early access games I've found. That extra step to say "this doesn't do anything yet" or "this feature SOUNDS like it does something, but it doesn't" made me happy. Anyway its a little bit of a colony sim a little bit of a crafting/survival sim. Adorable and unfinished just like me, 10/10

I absolutely adored this game. It was the perfect length for the gameplay, wasn’t too long wasn’t too short. The music was wonderful, the art was adorable, the dialog and writing was hilarious. 10/10 must recommend the story was compelling and had me sitting on the edge of my seat the whole time.

It’s like reverse katamari you’ll love it go buy it right now
