This game is so slept on. Charming art, beautiful game design and fun little animal noises when while trying to outsmart your enemy and getting wrecked by flanking hammer-whacking moles or exploding toads you didn't catch in time.

It's a blast to introduce it to others - if they have RTS experience or not. It's all about building up your farms for resources, capturing gristmills to expand your territory and countering the enemies units.

The shorter rounds and limited amount options to build make it way easier to look past the classic RTS frustration of messing up early on or losing a fight further into a round and just waiting to be destroyed when all hope to recover is lost. They also take off the pressure to experiment and play with different unit combinations and see if you can make them work together. It made me appreciate and have an easier time parsing the more complex games in the RTS genre like Age or Empires or Tzar and sometimes wishing for a more streamlined design where i didn't have to click through a billion menus to get my army going.

The singleplayer campaign does a fun job at building the world and has some variety to offer aswell while teaching you about certain strategies that you can instantly apply in PVP matches.

If it's been a while, grab a friend and give Tooth and Tail another honest try!

Very steep and occasionally frustrating learning curve to get used to the way movement works but it's so good when you finally get there. First party dreamcast games like this are such unique experiences and have aged super well!
Really hoping they're gonna rerelease this game + future for newer plattforms

Just as good as i remember - I kind of wish i didn't play this when i was so young because it kind of ruined most other RPGs for me, because none of them live up to such a good, no bs complete package in terms of World, Characters, Music and Combat mechanics as the first two Gothic games.

I'd recommend to play with the default keyboard controls that got movement on the arrow keys.
It's super intuitive and easy when you get used to it

Pretty fun but i straight up don't want to play this anymore and all the constant big updates were the last straw.

Though there is a lot of polish in the menus, the music is great and there's some neat customization, it's doesn't change the fact that it is incredibly hard to recommend this to anyone into rhythm games for all the inconveniences and bloat. The always online DRM and you're inevitably won't be able to play it anymore that's pretty lame too.

You can literally buy the game and two dlc OR a used PS Vita and some older DJMAX titles and have a much better time

feels like heroes of the storm mixed with smite but 10 times more fun, more beautiful and way less frustrating and with deeper, more interesting mechanincs. a few more heroes would be nice but maybe they'll add more.

it's kinda weird to see such a well made and fluid free to play kinda moba influenced shooter and i hope it'll be able to sustain a playerbase of the current size or grow even bigger with time because it would be a pity if such a great game would just die after a while

i wonder if take two actually cares about the people playing their games

seems to me like all these big publishers are just trying their hardest to not care about players who care deeply about their products and just continue to cater to all the casual players just buying their games for the cred or to those who don't care about the actual quality of the game they're playing and are willing to spend money for microtransactions
