What sets this game apart from other Base Builder / Resource Management / Survival Crafter games, is the complexity of resources. Here, you have to handle solids, liquids and gases. You need to consider their evaporation and melting points, their pressure, density, temperature, toxicity, radiation and germ count.
You play on a finite map with finite resources. You need to research the tech tree and build constructs while keeping in mind the health of your minions (called Duplicants) and the wildlife (both flora and fauna). Duplicants are complex beings, they can suffer from diseases, scalding, freezing, stress, hunger, asphyxiation, drowning, sleep deprivation, sore back, allergies and mood swings. However, they can feel happy, liked, inspired, industrious, luxurious, clean and healthy.
The flora is used either as food, for Duplicants or animals, decor or medicine. Some plants only grow in certain conditions, they need the right type of gas (not just oxygen), the right type of fertilizer and the right type of irrigation.
The fauna is also plentiful. Different bioms have different creatures. Some are useful.. well, really all can be used for something, depending on your playstyle. You can tame them, breed them for food or just kill them for their meat. Some consume resources and excrete other resources, which can be used to your advantage.
There's space travel as well. You can build rockets, travel to other planets with other resources. You can ship those resources between planets.
Sounds complicated enough? Then remember that Oxygen is NOT Included ;)

This game is free to play. With that said, there are a few things worth spending cash on, one of which is some extra stash tabs in your loot chest. There are a few specific ones that hold only a certain types of items, but often way more than you can fit in a regular stash tab. The currency tab is near mandatory to get. All your characters share the stash tabs, so they fill up quite quick if you like playing with different characters.
Your character inventory is fixed and cannot be expanded.
Some items take up more space than others.

Prepare to spend hours and hours in this game. No replay is alike!
