While on a technical level, the game is executed quite well, it is really just a glorified "hold W" simulator with a few QTEs and three or four annoying stealth sections. There is very little actual difficulty in the game - there's more challenge in getting all the failure achievements than not. There are also two areas of the game where you can easily get yourself confused on what to do. One is a forced-failed QTE that isn't explained at all, leaving you resetting from checkpoint endless times until you google it. The other is a "parkour" section where you must climb up (against the obvious path which is downward) to trigger an QTE event to then jump down, instead of just climbing down to begin with (which you can but then cannot proceed because you didn't trigger the unexplained QTE).

The story itself is good enough, well except the what felt like a rushed ending, but there's no reason to play it yourself at the current price point - just watch it.

Hey there Marbot.

Thank you so much for playing Still Wakes the Deep and taking the time to write this review. We're sorry to hear some gameplay elements didn't quite hit the mark for you.
