Undeniably one of the best VR games out there. Whether you're an avid flight simulator enjoyer, or just some goober who just got the quest 3 or PCVR for Christmas, it's a must have that can truly show you what VR is capable of, both as an experience game wise, and as to how VR can create a community social wise, similar to how Beat Saber is. That said, I would personally recommend it as a game played after getting used to VR, as it can be disorienting and overwhelming for new users. The game itself can seem confusing and complex at first, but VTOL VR is truly a "Easy to Learn, Hard to Master" experience. It's easy to get a grasp of things through the in-game tutorials, and playing through the in-game campaigns allows you to get a grip on the weapons, controls, and other functions of the aircraft, while also allowing for extremely complex strategies and usage of real life mechanics such as RCS that take the skill ceiling incredibly high. VTOL VR offers challenges that require personal effort and dedication to overcome. Your first carrier landing, aerial refueling, the thrill of defending your first missile, of escaping certain death, finding the upper hand in a dogfight, even trying to limit how many times you die trying to complete a mission, or how many people you can kill before dying. This game provides an excellent opportunity to learn, more or less, what its like to be a fighter pilot, to learn how your plane works, your weapons, and by extension, your limits and capabilities as a pilot, which is immensely satisfying, and will make you want to try harder and learn more to see what else you are capable of. The multiplayer and surrounding online communities allow for an insanely wide range of experiences, ranging from competitive and exhilerating, to slow and calm, e.g. Air Traffic Control, Formation flying, Milsim, PvP, PvE, etc. I personally came into this game as someone who never thought about planes, let alone military aviation, and ended up becoming a competitive player, attending and winning tournaments, and who is now looking to become a pilot within the USAF. I truly believe that VTOL VR is the perfect entrance into military-esk flight simulators, and very well could change your life if given the chance.
