Definitely not a bad game, but as it currently is I find it quite overrated and too casual.
It is a funky combination of a roguelite battler mixed together with some colony sim. It being a mix of 2 genres, neither of these parts felt properly fleshed out. A lot of times I felt the game was needlessly wasting my time with repetetive unecessary long animations and no way to skip them on top of overal busy work.
The dungeons felt way too short to feel real impact from random pickups/upgrades making me not really care about them. One of the 5 weapons (claws) felt absolutely terrible making me frustrated whenever that (sole) option was presented.
Also the fish RNG is definitely broken which was also a frustration on my part.

The game does look cute though, but it feels it comes at the expense of gameplay. I would say this is probably too casual for my taste.

Game was overhyped, as a result you could say this is a overly critical review.

Overall, the game is not necessarily bad, bit it is not necessarily good either. They did really nail the feeling of being a space explorer, with an in game universe that feels absolutely massive, it is really cool you can litteraly go anywhere. For that I would say the procedural generation was actually quite well done and the 'barren planets' I have seen others mention did not bother me that much, although some more variety wouldn't hurt. The story and side missions are nothing special either, they are just really safe. Ship combat feels more of a gimmick than anything else and the graphics to me come across as very mediocre for the performance it costs.

But by far the main issue I have with the game are gameplay/balance issues: About 3/5 of the skill tree is quite simply trash, and aside from combat it feels like none of the other skills or things you can do are properly fleshed out. Outposts management is missing some crucial QOL additions to not feel like a total drag for example, and while scanning is really nice to provide a lot of XP, besides that it is quite useless. You would think that when you need resource X and have scanned a lot of planets, you could search 'where to find resource X', except you can't. To me all the non-combat skills feel like this: extremely shallow and not worth pursuing.

So conclusion: very mediocre game, procedural generation was quite well done, gameplay is really shallow.

Quite meh, the digging didn't really add a lot. Would still recommend as it wasn't bad, just not that good either

Fun game, base building is very light though and mid to late game can become a bit tedious: early game is definitely the best part

Cute little puzzle game, really relaxing.
Mechanics are somewhat innovative, but mostly its just a good game because of the art style and overall feel.

I would say the current price of €20,- is a bit on the high side though.

While it is fun for a bit, it quickly becomes rather boring with seemingly no real challenge, lack of interesting events and what feels like a limited way to solve the problems. I do not understand where the high rating comes from, this type of gameplay is significantly better solved by other games such as Rimworld (manages to actually invest you into your colony) or Factorio (provides better solutions to the puzzle that is at hand) for example.

While I normally like puzzle games I did not like this one. I disliked the art style and found most puzzles really hard and not inviting, When I got a solution after being stuck on it was more of a relief then pride, maybe some kind of hint system would have helped. I guess I enjoy it more when the rules are more static.

Right up to the end I had mixed feelings about this game, and if I could give it a mixed rating I would. One the one hand the world, characters in it and the story are quite amazing. The ending(s) is pretty good as well.
On the other hand there are still the countless small litlle frustrations, be it bugs, glitches, performance issues, balance problems or parts of the gameplay that just don't flow well. And even though I was never really on the hype train from the beginning, I can just sense there are features missing and/or cut.

It's a decent game, but could have been much more.

While the gameplay and especially the setting/story was very cool, sadly I have to give this a negative review.
2 Years after release the game still has a very obnoxious bug where it stops loading in (detailed) textures at a certain point, this makes the game look very ugly and to me is unacceptable for a big title as it is.
Additionally, I would like to play the DLC, but I cannot because it is not available on steam anymore? What kind of nonsense is that?

Its a shame because I did enjoy the game.
