Sometimes it just forgets to take input from the controller.

When people wanted their money back after the initial release, I argued that they should definitely be entitled to it on the basis that it didn't deliver what it promised, and I was right. But if they stuck it out (or rebought it later) then they did eventually get what they paid for, and then some, and for no extra cost.

I am finding NMS to be a bit grindy in terms of hunting down resources, but that may be a skill issue. I'm playing naively, using only in-game information and no documentation, and I find the game to be quite understandable and enjoyable in my ignorance. I got the game at a nice discount during the winter sale and I feel pretty confident that I'm getting more than my money's worth already.

I'm playing at 4k with the settings turned up pretty far with a 5600X and a 4060 Ti 16GB, and am keeping the FPS pinned to 60 with settings at 75%+ on Linux. Yes, I did just build this system, thank you very much :)

This game is pretty fun, but it has stupid and annoying bugs. For example pulling a fuse, wait for the lights to all go out, hammer the button, it actually says I had the timing right but then I die because I got shocked anyway. It's always sad when basic fundamentals like whether you take damage or not don't work properly in a gorgeous game like this. More effort on whether the software works and less on eye candy please.

Helpful hint: You can skip the intro videos by hammering spacebar. Reportedly ESC used to work, but now it doesn't. Unfortunately they are all separate so you have to skip like four of them. So irritating.

I got this game for a few bucks, it's pretty neat, except it just crashed on me just after completing the second part of story mode...

If you liked Subnautica and want more of it, this is almost that.

The Seatruck is a poor substitute for a larger submarine, but the sea caves are more claustrophobic this time around so this is what works.

The game is kind of poorly discoverable, it would be nice to have more objectives that would help you find the places you need to go in order to get the resources needed to advance the game. The prior title was significantly better in this regard.

All in all it's a better game so far (13 hours in) than the negative reviews would suggest, but this game just doesn't feel as epic as the prior one did from the beginning. Part of that is probably familiarity with the formula, but the big crashed ship was kind of awe inspiring and this game doesn't have anything like that lurking as a constant reminder.

I still love exploring and crafting games, so this is pretty good. And if you want to make it casual, you can turn off the danger, which is a nice feature. I am playing on survival and haven't died once, but I also played through the prior game so I didn't come in blind either.

This is a charming little game that does what it says on the box. Easy is easy, you get to explore a series of star systems, you get to save the galaxy or whatever. The lo-fi graphics are attractive, and the story is reasonably well written. The gameplay is not very deep, but it's got enough variation to be reasonably interesting for the course of a playthrough.

I did find it a bit irritating to have to start over at the end of each chapter, which somewhat diminishes the feeling of progression.

I'm late to the RDR2 party but I'm enjoying it immensely. I'm playing on Linux at 1080p60 with a 1600AF and a 4060 16GB, and it's very smooth with max settings at about 55-75 fps. (I'm triple buffering to avoid tearing, it's nice to have a lot of VRAM finally.)

I hesitated on this game because I am cheap, then I bought it and I didn't have enough VRAM, but I got this GPU and then it went on sale again and here we are. It is really quite gorgeous, and a lot of fun, with enough challenge at normal to be consistently engaging. The voice acting is great, I never skip anything.

with all that said... play control is trash. No, I said DRAW my weapon, not put it away...

Simcity 4 runs pretty well under Proton (I am using Proton-GE 7.55 currently) and seems to be pretty reliable and glitch-free at 1080p. Google for "simcity 4 1080p" to find some ways to set your screen resolution, I used the method where you hex edit the config file with the "hexedit" program on Devuan 5/Debian 12.

This game is pretty good, despite being paper-thin. It does a tolerable imitation of having a functional economy, if you don't expect too much from it. I used to play on vmware player, but the performance is quite a bit better in Proton.

This game is rock solid on Linux, I am enjoying the Proton dividend. I have a low-mid range PC (1600AF, 1070 OC) and everything is very smooth with all visual options cranked at 1080p60.

I put this game off until it got cheap, so now I am enjoying it for the first time, and it's very good. I really enjoy exploration and this game is very heavy on that. The intro prompts are sort of hit and miss, some of them are easy to ignore.

One thing that cannot be emphasized enough for new players is to build the scanner ASAP. A scanner icon appears in the lower right portion of the screen when you can scan something. Look for shiny machine stuff near wrecks; small spoiler ahead but scanning some of this debris will let you have beacons. You want to drop beacons everywhere of interest right away, so that you can return to earlier locations to harvest resources without having to hunt for them. You don't move around the world very fast, so it's irritating to need to wander.

update (SPOILER WARNING): So I'm playing survival mode, which means there's a single save file, so no save history right? And about half of the lockers I put inside of the sub have disappeared due to some collision bug that persists through all the updates to the game. Which means that literally hours worth of work just vanished, INCLUDING ITEMS I CANNOT REPLACE. So I'm going to have to use the console to cheat my way back into the game. And I really don't know how much of things I had. Given that the devs never managed to fix this game-breaking bug I have to change my conclusion to thumbs down. It would be irritating in any game, but when you have one save file it is completely unacceptable. BOOOOOOOO

I thought I liked this game but then it came time to move my island around, and your kingdom can't function without you connected to it and you run out of food rapidly unless you sit and wait and wait and wait some more for it to build up first.
