While not the most feature rich, this "short and sweet" retro game tells its story so well and looks good enough doing it, that it's very easy to recommend.

While the 16bit styling and real time combat of AoS may invoke memories of The Legend of Zelda this is not the best comparison to make IMHO. AoS is a shorter more linear experience than A Link To The Past and the combat is slower.

This game looks great though and it sounds great. All in all it feels good too. Its strength lies in the story and the atmosphere and while the swordplay doesn't detract, it doesn't exactly stand out.

Every real gripe I had with the game has since been patched. On top of that he price tag is quite reasonable, so once again, easy to recommend.

Very very cute. Great game for all ages.
As soon as you can control the game you can play this. Excellent for the youngest gamers.
For the rest of us it's just short, super adorable and gratis as well. Full marks.

Early Access Review
TL;DR Avoid unless you see a big update after this review was posted.

Unfortunately this game appears dead. The developers don't seem to have been active for over six months. It could be because development has halted, but it can also be because 2020 I know.

The controls in this game are so bad I found it completely unplayable with mouse and keyboard. It took me less than half an hour to establish that the pain simply isn't worth it, no matter what. It plays like Dark Souls without mods.

These recent sales without any word of updates aren't very reassuring either and the Discord isn't exactly bustling.

In conclusion steer clear for now. Perhaps we'll see a big update at some point, but unfortunately I'm no longer hopeful.

Best in genre, hands down. If you've ever enjoyed Left 4 Dead or any other "4vE" horde shooter there's a very good chance you'll adore Vermintide 2.

In what could perhaps be considered the autumn of the game's existence it still looks the part, but much more importantly it still feels right, which will be important to the Warhammer Fantasy aficionados out there. The characters are great, the voice work holds up and the atmosphere is grim enough that it's definitely Warhammer.

The game's strongest suit however is the melee combat. Sure you can shoot the things, but I don't see why you would when the melee just feels that good. The visceral feeling of your hits landing, particularly with blunt weapons, is better than swordplay in any other game I have played. Extremely satisfying.

The criticism this game gets from those who would not recommend it is for the most part legit, but for me neither issue is nearly big enough to take away from the enjoyment. The game gets better with increased difficulty and the issues such as disconnects happen rarely at the slightly more "serious" difficulties.

All in all this game is the Left4Deadlike we always deserved and "Rat go skree when I go bonk" should probably be taught in schools the World over.

With Darktide released and making waves, I thought it was time to update this review. Obviously there's no contest in the value department. Vermintide 2 is patched, polished and packed with content while Darktide is making everyone aware their overclock maybe wasn't 100% stable. Darktide is fun and it's going to be amazing, but as of late 2022, Vermintide 2 is heavily reduced again and in my opinion a better place to spend your time and money, even at full price.

Bioware hit it out of the park with this one.

Set in a universe where space travel has been made possible by ancient technology discovered on Mars. Mass Effect creates an amazing world of heroism, friendship, politics, sex and war. Humanity has to find its place in the new space order, with several alien species as trade partners, allies and enemies.

The first game in the series is my personal favourite. Many of the quirks that set this game apart from the others give it a unique flair I didn't think the other two had. The Mass Effect series represent the best single player experiences I ever had. It's RPG at it's very best as far as video games go.

Technically the graphics look a little dated. But the PC port is solid, and gameplay, good voice work and a solidly created world, that is very easy to immerse one self in, make up for that nimbly.

I am jealous of anyone who managed to miss this gem. Get the collection with both these games.
