Cool twist on the existing SMT/Persona formula. Beautiful art direction and UI. The story is interesting, looking forward to seeing where it goes from here.

they fixed most of the problems i had with the game. monetization seems much more fair now. balance seems decent. most characters feel good to play. core gameplay is fun. i think it's about time we bring this game up from its "mostly negative" review score.

Ignore the time played, I have way more hours logged on PlayStation. I saw someone use a metaphor for eating at a restaurant, but I thought I'd mix it up a bit:

This game is like going out to eat at a very nice restaurant with some of the best food around, but the chef comes out and starts eating your food while you do. It's a bit annoying, but you come back again anyway, because the food was great. Next time you come back, you realize the portions are smaller, and the chef still digs into your food while you're eating it, which is still pretty annoying. Following that, the next time you visit, the chef has now removed all appetizers and entrees from the menu, leaving only sides; he says he will give you access to *some* entrees if you pay extra for them, but the price of the meal without them has remained unchanged despite that.

The final time you come back to visit, the chef tells you that you have to pay for the privilege of eating there, and then you have to pay for the meal, which now only includes tableware and a drink in a limited-edition glass, but the side dishes costs extra, and the entrees are accessible for purchase only if you agree to buy side dishes and dessert.

If you don't like that, you're free to stand outside the restaurant and watch people eating through the window.
