pub lobbies have a certain amusing energy to them. screwing around in them feels a lot more fun than playing the actual game tbh.

Just finished the entire trilogy.

This game has you playing the role of a defense attorney, and your job is to point contradictions in testimony given in court through the use of evidence which generally will be collected during investigations you carry out. It's a really cool concept, to say the least. Technically the game is in the visual novel genre, but I'd call it a bit of a puzzle game, too.

It's very amusing, and really makes you think, often outside the box. I won't say much of the positives because that'd be spoiler territory. Play the game for yourself, and make sure to play it blindly. Avoid visiting any wikis, looking up the soundtrack, or whatever, because people will sprinkle spoilers all over the place.

This game's not without its flaws though. Some of the cases are really obnoxious and are a slog to get through. There's many moments where the developer made some sort of error or had an oversight that will lead you to getting lost without brute-forcing your way through the investigations, or to making perfectly valid deductions but presenting the evidence for said deductions on the wrong statements.

All-in-all, the pros outweigh the cons. Check it out.

This game has taught me that the #1 way to survive a shark attack is to eat several bananas while they're biting you.

Conditionally recommended. I played this game a long time ago and I think my initial review was harsh on it. My main stipulation is that it's a bit highly priced... but it looks great and the concept is implemented well and taught wordlessly. There's really nothing more than line puzzles, so besides the visuals, its the same value as a puzzle book. Recommended if on sale, or if the price doesn't bother you.

Prey is nothing groundbreaking, but I thought it was a pretty fun game with an interesting story and concepts. I find it to be particularly fun if you use anything other than actual guns for the most part.

It's also taught me a few things:
1) Wrenches are incredibly powerful
2) Be sure to drink 100 glasses of water per day

What you can see looks nice, but what can you see? A cluttered mess where you have no clue what's going on. But hey, flashy and smooth vector graphics!

Let me start by saying I'm a newcomer to this series, and I had a friend who isn't a newcomer educate me more on the game. So now that I know more about the game, I now know that apparently Bungie decided to completely abandon Destiny 2's original opening and instead opt for something more confusing, basically leaving me with basically no introduction to the game's mechanics or lore. That is incredibly problematic, because it makes it so that this game cannot stand on its own for newcomers. What makes this even more hilarious that they decided to begin the game by recycling part of Destiny 1's intro. Way to go, Bungie.

That aside, let's go over why this game is a confusing snorefest. There's nothing more to it than shooting enemies that are as strong as wet toilet paper, and then occasionally getting one-shot by something that had no real indication it was about to. You take on quests, but if anything it all feels like boring optional side-quests you'd find in other videogames. To make things even more boring, the music all sounds the same, making it difficult to even determine if the tracks are changing as you play the game.

Since the intro does a really poor job of introducing you to the game, you're left with no grasp of the game mechanics that aren't shooting, your class abilities, or punching things. You're left with no grasp of the game's universe, so you can't get attached to the plot or the characters. You're left wondering what is even going on, and considering I gave this thing 1½ hours and I still don't know what's going on, I can't recommend it. That is way more than enough time for any decent game to establish all of this stuff. If I just wanted to shoot things, I could go do that in some other game that actually makes it interesting.

The only redeeming thing I can find about the game so far is the art direction. There is beautiful scenery and a beautiful UI. It goes to waste though because you're too focused on shooting enemies that you know nothing about and because the UI's functionality is horrendous.

Anyhow, this thing is a whopping 70 GB so I'm uninstalling it. No game, especially a boring one, should take up that much space on my hard drive. Some games can get away with confusing the crap out of me, but not games like Destiny 2 which try to take themselves super seriously in the process.

And if you think I'm the only one with this problem...

Was complete and utter crap in early access, and is still complete and utter crap after coming out of early access. I can't believe they're selling this for $15 when it used to be $5.

If you're looking for a golf game on Steam, you're kind of out of luck. This is one of the best of the few golf games Steam has to offer, which should basically tell you that there are no good golf games on this platform. I have played other golf games that are available here, and I do not recommend them either.

The only real pros of the game are that there's a lot of content that is otherwise well made. There's lots of official courses as well as user generated courses (though those tend to have even worse issues than official courses).

Anyways, why is this trash? It has awful physics, lots of clipping issues on courses, horribly chosen pars, awfully designed courses that frequently make calculating the trajectory of your ball more difficult than it needs to be, and high CPU usage for no good reason. The graphics are dated and ugly, and the music is so repetitive and trite that I had to mute it to retain my sanity (it's not that the music is bad, it's just so incredibly cliché). The only reason I have any significant amount of hours in this game is because some of my friends either don't know what else to play or want to play different game.

What a frustrating game, seriously. Also, what a rewarding game! One of the best precision platformers I've played. The controls are tight, the learning curve feels just right, the game is challenging in a purely skill-dependent way. I got hooked enough to complete every single level, even the optional ones.

Unlike a lot of people (supposedly) I found myself screaming at my monitor a lot while playing this, but you know what? It feels good to get through the really hard parts. In my experience, it's something you enjoy after you put in all the hard work, not while you're putting in all the hard work.

I have only two problems with this game:
1) It kinda sucks to control on an analogue stick (you'll often find yourself dashing in the wrong direction). I think keyboard is the best way to play it (disregarding the one mechanic that works better on analogue), but you might find a dpad works very well too.
2) A lot of screens in it are very long without checkpoints. You will find yourself repeating the same segments over and over, which some people believe adds to the challenge, but to me it's an exercise in tedium.

Overall, I highly recommend it despite these shortcomings.
