TL;DR: Amazing game that lives up to expectations for a modernised SOR game. Including OST, Combat, Characters, Stages etc.

Great return to SOR series. Massive fan of the originals on the Mega Drive/Genesis. This brings such a nostalgic vibe but also brings the series to such a modernised state that still feels it brings back those memories of playing back in the day.

Just few things that i really loved about the game:

-Combat feels nice.

-The colour and style is such a beauty to look at.

-The different types of modes, difficulties and also many characters just constantly keeps me playing.

-The soundtrack really makes it feel so alive. Which can't be a surprise as that is what makes SOR so good.

-The stages are really well timed and paced. Not too long or short and plenty of room to always improve if you're looking for either no damage or getting through a level ASAP.

With the current DLC which is Mr. X Nightmare, brings the Survival Mode which im constantly playing as i always wanna try and practice and improve with random enemies. Also while you are playing this mode you will unlock certain types of alternative modes for the characters you play as. As you play with them more and get through Survival stages, the more moves you will unlock. For the retro characters some may only have 1 or 2 alternative moves, but the SOR 4 characters will have 5 you can unlock.

Dotemu, Lizardcube, and Guard Crush Games have done an amazing job. Also the legends Yuzo Koshiro, Tee Lopes and Olivier Deriviere and many others to who helped produce this amazing OST for both the main game and the DLC.

Recommend this to anyone that is a fan of the old games or just beat em ups in general. Would be also a great game to start on and then go back onto the old retro games to see what you have missed out on :)
