Great game! I think it's a shining example of what sequels ought to be, and something all Vergeheads should consider playing - just don't expect a whole lot of continuations from the first game or you'll be dissappointed, hehe.

To get just a bit more specific, it's of course still a metroidvania, but the combat's different (melee weapons instead of guns) and the vibes of the world are different. The story takes place in the same universe as the first, but focuses and expands upon previously unexplored bits of lore.

Behind the big shakeups, though, hides a lot of things to praise that make Axiom Verge 2 an awesome game in its own right. Just to name a few, the enemy design is masterfully creative and after the midgame traversal is a blast! And I've never seen mirror world concepts and puzzles executed this well!
