Builds on what was good about Chivalry 1. An improvement in pretty much every way.

The biggest improvement between the two games are the game objectives. A typical game will go through several phases of objectives. (I.e, - Besiege walls, hold the gatehouse and open the gates, burn the market in the town centre, besiege the keep, enter the keep and kill the king). This detail brings the game to life and makes it feel like an actual siege or battlefield compared to the first game.

Pros:
Game makes me laugh out loud and embraces sillyness
Game objectives make it feel like an actual siege
Character customisation is improved over Chiv1
Game gets regular updates
Cavalry are in some game modes which is fun to play as AND fun to play against

Cons:
Takes a long time to level (I am level 23 at 23 hours played) and a lot of the items don't unlock until later levels.
Expensive upgrade from Chiv1. (£36 at time of review, 2.5 years after release)

They haven't changed the formula. Plays like Anno 1404 with some welcome additions.

This is the only game I have played since my childhood where 10 hours can pass and I don't realise.

This is the game I have been waiting for. This is the game that I was praying Rainbow Six Siege was going to be. (Albeit PvE, not PvP)

As a long time tactical-FPS player, I can say without hesitation that this is one of the best I've ever played and totally satisfies my desire to experience tactical breach and clear gameplay.

Would you believe it's been 17 years since SWAT 4 came out? Wow, that makes me feel old. I just feel blessed that we are finally returning to high quality, well thoughtout and punishing tactical FPS games.

This has officially been the longest time I have never played a game of Counter Strike. And having been an 11 year Vet of Counter Strike, I think that's saying something. Siege, for me, perfectly fills the fantasty of being an elite operative resucing a hostage where no other game has come close.

You will find Siege overwhelming at first.

There are tons of operators to choose from, the maps are very complex and are made more so by the fact that most walls/floors/ceilings can be destroyed and you are open to be shot from any angle. However, you will come to learn the maps and you'll come to learn the meta game. I am now level 115 in this game and the times I'm being surprised by the angle I'm being shot from are now rare, and I have a strong understanding of positioning, angles, game sense and meta game. But it's taken me about 300 hours where the same level of capability and understanding would come a lot sooner in a less complex game like CS. Compared to a game like CS, there are countless many more 'variables' that alter every game to make it different, which can both be good and frustrating.

Don't be intimitaded by the amount of operators like I was. They all have their place within the team, though some are stronger than others. You'll soon find a style that fits you. Personally, I think the weapons the operator has access to makes as much a difference as the gadget. At it's core, it's still a shooting game more than it is a Rock Paper Scissors game, so pick an operator with a weapon you're comfortable with, rather than gadget you are excited by. For example, 'Slege' may seen like a great starting operator, but the desire to use his gadget (a sledge hammer for breaching wills) will get you killed a lot more than if you just focused on using your assault rifle and saving the sledge hammer for when you really need it.

The game still has it's problems that I get frustrated with. However, it's more often down to net code than operator balance. The person peeking a corner will always have a distinct advantage, and it's not uncommon to be shot when you think you're safe running between cover because your hitbox is always a step behind you. Also, getting killed right at the start of the round can be frustrating because this is a game where it's not uncommon to go 5 - 6 minutes without 'action'.

Overall I'd say this is one of the best FPS games I've ever played. The amount of hours I've put into this game over the last year is impressive compared to my average time spent gaming. It's finally knocked CS off it's post for me and I have a new favourite tatical shooter.

DO NOT be put off by all the 'DLC'. There is nothing that Real Money will buy you that will give you an advantage. I've purchased the season passes, but you can buy the base game and still enjoy it to it's maximum. You have to unlock the Season Pass operators using in-game currency. I would estimate that it would take you about 50ish hours of play before you have unlocked all 8 'new' operators. However, they are no more OP than the other ops, so don't worry about buying the game and not having them.

The game is frequently being balanced and it's one of the rare few games that has had it's player base doubled since release.

Only played 12 hours so far but I feel like I'm about 1% through. Such a rich world that's incredibly immersive.

Though I've played for 12 hours only, I did 2 major stints of about 4 hours, and that's the type of game this is. Something you need to settle into on a weekend, as an hour here and there will not be anywhere near as enjoyable.

Please also note that there is A LOT of reading. A lot of characters are voice acted, but there is a tremendous amount of reading too. However, it's all well written and still has you immersed.

There seem to be plenty of classes to choose from and really you can pretty much play whatever you want. Want to be a Wizard with a bow? Want to be a Rogue that uses a 2 hander? Want to be a melee Priest? From what I've seen so far, I see no reason why you can't do that.

It's an indepth RPG and it's pretty difficult (I'm on normal mode). Not for the faint of heart, but a must-buy for those seeking a real RPG experience that have felt modern RPGs are lackluster.

I'm not sure if I can edit reviews, but I don't doubt I'll get 100 hours out of this game.

Only played one hour so far. However it's exceeding my expectations in terms of immersion, atmosphere and graphics. (Seriously, this game is beautiful!).

My only gripe is that The Player is engaged by the Tribesman really quickly. You barley have time to get familarize yourself with controls and basic mechanics, before you're attacked and dragged off into a cave (which is not a scripted event). However, I've only started a new game twice, so other players might have a different experience.

I'm going to stop playing for now, because the game is filled with a few bugs including rendering players unable to save game, forcing them to start from scratch every death.

Really good game. It's not as good for mindless killing like GTA, but it has my favorite story from this genre. The Driving and Comat is ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ win too.

It only scored 71 but I highly reccomend it. Very simmilar to Splinter Cell conviction if that's your thing.

It's even more fun than it looks. Seriously. One of the most "overall fun" games I've played.
