I wish people would stop tolerating being bullshitted excessively like that.
I get it, your favorite game series could aaaalmost be so good, they fixed a bunch of things and a few bucks here and there to get this nice Item and whatnot is fine.
But WHAT THE .... IS BETHESDA THINKING?
If I want a few more carpet options to decorate my Base.. no worries fam, they are included in this Pack of only 39.99€
Like that chair model to use in your cozy home? No worries, 3 bucks for a single digital prop should do the trick for yer.
Oh and playing with your friends privately with some custom settings? No worries, 14.99 a month on top will have you all settled.

This game was rotting in my library for ages now, and I just got back into it with my brother, and I'll know we'll still have some pretty fun moments in this, but I'm not willing to even adress anything else about the gameplay as long as Bethesda thinks this absolutely DISGUSTINGLY GREEDY behaviour is fine.
This is absolutely repulsive business practice and I hope one day the ******** in the suits at Bethesda will one day grow the concience to feel ashamed of their crappy practices of dangling overpriced sugar canes infront of the faces of people that love their IPs for the good parts of it.

*EDIT*
I was overly fair with this game. It's way worse the more you play. Get killed from 360° in a flat empty map simulator. Don't buy it, you are gonna regret wasting your time on this.

If this wasn't Battlefield, I would probably recommend it.
Let me explain:
Technically, I honestly think this game is pretty alright now. I didn't want to get it at all for a long time, but I gave it a try for 9 bucks. And I can tell this game has changed for the better from what I've seen it be in its starting days.
There's a lot of things pointing in the right direction now. Yet ultimately, I just don't recommend this experience to someone looking for a Battlefield game.
If you want an extremely generic, and streamlined shooter that feels like the endless free to play COD Clones that used to be around, this is actually a good game for it. And I can actually enjoy it as such aswell, I won't return the game.
But this game, even more so than the last few installations just proves once more, that EA doesn't understand it's own game.
They think that Chaos and over the top Action is what makes a Battlefield, while it was always the other way, back in the days of Bad Company 1&2 and BF3, I enjoyed the "experiences" that Battlefield gave, while COD was always generic, short lived fun. And it was fine that way.
It would be presumpuous to tell people what to enjoy, if they enjoy a forgettable, quick round of action (like I myself every now and then do aswell) that's great.
But I don't understand why every major IP aims to deliver the exact same experience now.
Every single installment of the series feels faster and faster, and more forgettable in return. While COD actually took a step back in 2019 with getting a bit slower, and actually more memorable than BF.

I don't want to jump on the hate train, so I ultimately want to close this review with a list of points for each to decide on their own wether they are good or not with my personal opinion attached to it for anyone that cares... because I honestly think it's not a terrible game now, but its a terrible Battlefield.

- Movement Mechanics are very fluid. Sprinting, Vaulting, Reloading, Climbing all is extremely fast as if you are weightless. I don't have a very solid comparison to the last few Battlefields as I didn't play them a lot, but it feels like the fastest Battlefield to me so far. You won't feel like getting stuck anywhere, which is good, but that also means there's always enemy players around you EVERYWHERE. There's no clear "Frontline" type of combat, except for in Rush. But Rush in turn is a giant Zergfest.

- Gunplay is very smooth. The guns sound great, nice hefty reverb to it, and personally, I'm glad that the hit/kill sounds aren't too out of place and intrusive like in COD where theres a weird "Ching" thats louder than the gunshots itself. I personally hate that "instant gratification" addictiveness making in games. I also almost pompletely turned off the huge hitmarkers and made the kill text as small as possible for the same reason.
Recoil is pretty low. I personally don't like that too much, on the other hand Higer recoil would be frustrating if the Movement of enemies is this fast or if the ttk is too high.
Balancing of guns is so so. I personally think the attachments are "too balanced". I wouldn't mind an attachment making a gun just better, without always having drawbacks attached to it.
Also I wouldnt mind CQB guns be more effective at range, they become completely useless, while I remember how in BC2000 the PP2000 could still rip at distance.

- Graphics; I don't really want to add much a comment here, I personally hate the look of TAA, and would much rather have technically worse graphics, but better sharpness over how this game looks. But it's not a bad looking game.
I want to note that I play with an external HDD, so I'm not super surprised by it, but sometimes textures take forever to load and I play the first 3 minutes with PS1 graphics. Nevertheless I don't know any other game where its this bad.
My personal stance on graphics is, I prefer games that look like ~ 2010 era games, as the technical limitations made for more artistic and unique styles, over super realistic looking games with weird; unsharp TAA and glitchy LOD that feels like barely holding together sometimes.

- Gamemodes&Player counts: A good Variety of Gameodes and a BIG PLUS for Portal. Big server sizes possible.
I personally have a big issue with the game in this aspect. Too many players create either complete sensory overload or ends in zerg rushes. There's no tactics involved in any gamemode, it's all down to the fast reflexes. Staying in a position for more than 10 seconds results in dying by being shot from 6 sides.
Rush was my favorite gamemode until BF3, since then I feel like the game works best in Team Deathmatch. Conquest wasn't fun since BC2/bF3 anymore. Get killed by vehicles or snipers simulator.
I found that in this game I also pretty much just enjoy TDM, Rush can be okay (when it's not XL).
Mostly I actually end up with Portal AI Matches (with faster ttk and slower movement speed, which again feels more like the older games)

So in summary, yes I know I sound like a boomer, whishing back old times, but I think even EA/Dice said it themselves when it was about the topic of a possible Bad Company 3 "we don't know why players loved BC2" so much. And looking at this game, you can tell that they don't understand their own game.
They made a good shooter but a bad Battlefield.

I hate to give this a not recommended, but it just isn't an enjoyable experience to me that I'd recommend at this moment.
The devs did a lot of great work on this, and I would love to enjoy & recommend this actually, it ticks a lot of boxes.. but I just found myself frustrated every single time I played.

The graphics are not a problem to me at all, I actually enjoy low poly games.
The reason why I don't find gameplay enjoyable is the offset between recoil, ttk and ttd, movement speed and on top of that I just don't enjoy gunplay with the current sound. And I don't want to just scream "cheaters", it can be netcode, some issues with game design or whatever, but it definitely FEELS like a LOT of deaths due to cheating, so regardless the cause, it's extremely annoying.

TTK feels too high for how fast players move, and the recoil doesn't feel like its helping. Dont get me wrong, I love gunplay with LOADs of recoil, it makes them feel powerful, but the way recoil is done in this game doesn't encourage me to try to master it. It feels too choppy, and too much of up and down zigzag instead of a constant push back & up. Add to that a rather high (and random feeling) ttk, fast moving players with a world scaling that makes them rather small targets despite being rather big blocky characters, and it just create fun gunplay.
My favorite statement on this recently was from the Squad Devs in light of their Infantry overhaul. "Guns should feel great to shoot in an empty room".

On top of that, the sound does not feel powerful, the "cycling" of the shots sounds chopped, it feels like shooting broken guns. For the last few rounds before uninstalling this game now, I played without sound, and the guns actually felt better.

Then the TTD is really quick.. even on the 64 player mode, someone is always already aimed at the corner you are about to walk past, and seemingly 1 taps you.. I personally would love that, but only if it feels like its just as easy to get kills.. which definitely isnt the case. Add a lot of getting sniped, and people apparently laser beaming you with their automatic weapons.. Sure there's definitely some "git gud" factor for me in there, but theres enough games where I enjoy the game even while sucking badly. And generally, I'm not terrible at FPS, in the Battlefields that I still played a lot (BC2, BF3, BF4 and Hardline to an extent) I would usually be at least somewhere in the top of the scoreboard in most rounds.

Overall, I do recommend keeping an eye on the progress of this game, and I would immediately change this review to support the devs when the changes are made that create an overall enjoyable experience, because as I said, they did a lot of the technical stuff VERY right in this game, but I just cant (even force myself to) enjoy the gameplay itself in its current state. And yes, I only have some 4 hours on this game, but I don't feel inclined at all to spend any more time in this game at this moment.

Game is really simple at the moment and the selection of fireworks is limited, so paying 10 Euros is mostly something for people who want to support the dev, or someone who really loves fireworks, BUT
1: The Graphics and artstyle are actually pretty cool
2: The lighting is amazing
3: The physics are actually pretty neat, destroying stuff and setting it on fire already is a lot of fun
4: The sound is actually pretty good on a lot of the fireworks, on some it's a little lacking in comparison though.
5: Performance is good, I've been using The fireworks in garrys mod before, they are awesome but after those you'd definitely appreciate the performance of this game
6: The dev is nice, engaged with the players and planning to add more content
7: It simply is fun. To play around with the physics, and use the "fuse" connection to make your own, timed fireworks feels good and if you are creative, you'll get more fun out of this than you'd expect.

I can absolutely recommend this game, even at full retail price. The developer is an amazing example of a good dev, I wrote a list of feedback and he brought a patch adressing it on the same day.
It's a lot of fun to play it asymmetrically with a friend, one with VR, one on PC, the fact that you can do this both locally and online gives you a lot of opportunities to have fun.
There isn't a huge load of levels, but they all take some time to accomplish, the bonus objectives, and randomized enemy locations combined with the level of difficulty that still makes the level a challenge no matter how often you play, offers good replay value, and as the dev is very active, there's constantly new content coming.
PC controls feel a little bit lazy, but they do the job, and the fun you can have when playing with a VR friend together makes up for it. VR controls, especially after the update he just released are pretty good, with some more minor adjustments I wouldn't see anything to complain with those.
If you play it alone in VR, local or online coop as VR player aswell as coop as PC player, I can definitely recommend this, if you are planning to play offline and on PC Screen only, then you might find yourself bored after some time.
With that in mind, I'd give the game a 10/10 for the amount of fun I already had so far.

Downloaded the whole workshop and ended up fighting Vikings with laser weapons with my team that used WW1 weapons against them. 14/10 will play until end of days

Am I playing a different DR 2.0 than you negative reviewers?
I don't really have much complaints for this game, I'd wish for Hillclimb, the option to use Rally cars in Rallycross and Vice Versa and the option to see your friends when playing online Rally mode with them (You only see the times in rally mode, in Rallycros you see them normally). Thats all that I could complain about.

Now I'm not a professional rally driver but I own a FWD rallycross car and occasionally drive it on local dirt tracks. I personally say DR 2.0 feels much closer to a real car than DR 1, which in its time already felt stunningly good.

Many people are complaining about FFB, weirdly enough this is the only game I play with FFB since its the only game which it really feels good in (I own a G29 and a G27 and I tested my brothers G29 aswell). Its the only game that feels how a real car reacts to bumps and surfaces. Maybe something is screwed up with my settings PC or whatnot, but as said I had to play every other racing game without FFB so far.

CM announced more content down the Road, which was the biggest minus for me in DR1. Especially since the level design in DR1 looked completely the same on each Stage, now the graphics look really nice and the level have a lot of visual variation, so no more issues in that part!

All in all, I can totally recommend this!

While it's still not a perfect Game, I can definately say I'm enjoying it and the developers made up for the lack of content at the Start. I appreciate their effort and the upcoming VR support is just another thumbs up from me.
I still wish for a bit more variety in the Planets, different Biomes and more interesting Points on a planet would be nice. Another big up would be more Variety in the Spacestations, more live in them and them being bigger.
Also if you are a big fan of building good looking stuff, more stuff in the building mode like additional furniture/ decoration objects and other building options would be nice to have.
Note that there are mods that add more to this game, I havent really tried them yet though.

In summary I would say if you see this game on Sale for around 30€/$, then it's worth it.

The DLC Policy is a joke, whoever is responsible for that and the pricing is insulting every single player, you are a ****!
Not disrespecting any other developers here, they did their job fine, but the people that are responsible for that marketing are a utter joke!
