If you got this game for free, go ahead and give it a try. I played for plenty of hours and got better value out of it than I would a movie ticket (though going to the cinema rn might not be the best idea). That doesn't make it worth your money, however. The entire game is just a series of like 14 endless mode levels that you have to play over and over again while the game tells you to stop playing and that there's nothing more in store for you.

Some of the new enemies are interesting, like the wall guys who are nearly invincible on all parts of their body but one, and the spiky explosive dudes (who make you have to quickly rethink your plans when they show up). However, some are not. About halfway through the levels get covered in mines which do nothing but slow down your movement and ruin the already bland soundscape with annoying beeping.

The "bosses"; however, are less than enjoyable. In fact, I think they just plain suck. I use the word "boss" in ironic air-quotes (well, technically they're real quotes but you get the point) because as far as I can tell there's no actual way to fight them. They are completely invincible. Sure, the first time you encounter them it's kinda cool how they use your own core abilities against you. But that's where it ends. Since you can't even damage them, the only interaction that you have is just "run away" or "die and restart the whole f***ing node".

The story is also quite annoying. It continues the meta-narrative from original game and the VR game. However, it's kinda overstayed it's welcome, especially with how it's used. While you're playing the game, it actively tells you to stop playing, since there's nothing new. I'll give it to them, this is the first time I've seen developers be this honest since Overkill of Payday 2 released a devlog saying "we're reselling DLC since we're bankrupt". It's not even that true, either. The reason why is that there is more to the game. There's a bunch of cool core abilities and even more little sub-abilities, some of which suck but a lot of which are pretty neat. Unfortunately, you have to play through the same level 7 times in order to unlock it, and even more if you lose.

Overall, don't buy it. If you want to, I strongly recommended that you watch some youtube reviews first, as it takes more than 2 hours (the steam refund time) for the attrition to wear you down and for you to come to the realization that you actually do need to beat the same ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ level 50 times, and you have to restart again if the invincible ninja dude shows up and chops your head off.

It's like lemmings but with zombies kind of. If you get stuck on a level, find a guide on youtube. It starts getting really hard in the last section so you might need to.

Here's the deal: The singleplayer is good. Great even. It's amazing fun, and I'm recommending the game based off that.

The multiplayer; however, is less good. You aren't gonna find the "epic vannoss gaming compilations" anymore. The game is ruled by grinding and tryhards on flying space motorcyle broomsticks called "oppressors". If you are determined to have fun, I suggest you follow a general code of conduct:

1) Don't ♥♥♥♥ with delivery missions. Any time Rockstar prompts you to "intercept a delivery and destroy it for cash and RP" or something of the sort, don't. You get like 200$ but the person who you killed loses up to a million depending on what they are selling. Only do it if your an ass.

2) Killing/being killed in general is fine, don't rage about it. (especially if it was a fair fight.) Some of the best moments in this game happen during firefights, so if some guy hits you with their car or does a driveby shooting or something, theres no need to be salty. Kill them once back and then ask if they wanna have a protracted fight, and if they don't want to, leave.

3) Don't blow up people having fun. If you see people doing something fun/casual/quirky XD, don't make it your first instinct to ruin it. Things like having a police hold-out in the industrial sector, taxi races, or somebody interacting with other players in a novel way like picking a up half the lobby in a bus and driving it into the reservoir.

4) Being killed by spaceguns is a legitimate ground for saltyness. Remember when I said earlier that being killed once or twice in a fair fight is fine? When people start to whip out the spaceguns is when repeated killing and chat salt stop looking like a ♥♥♥♥ move. Occasionally, you'll be driving down a boulevard when all the sudden some chucle♥♥♥♥ with too much time or mommys money will whip out a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ laser minigun abd one-shot you or a martian anti-grav pistol and zap you back to beetlebrox-7. If you don't have your own spacegun, then you have no way to defend yourself against similar spaceguns, so its ok to be salty about them. The only time spaceguns are ok is when you use them while defending your delivery mission or when killing an oppressor.

And that's about it. Nerd.

If you don't understand anything, play Ireland. There is almost no way you could possibly ♥♥♥♥ it up.

The game is great, the EULA is spyware. If you can, get it in a way that you don't have to agree to the EULA.

This is the game that got me into gaming. Not only is it fun on its own, the Napolean DLC and the modding community are awsome and let you play for hours on end. This is a sure buy.
