I went into New World with a ton of excitement. This was a new style of game for me(action based combat), a fantastic world to explore. Joined up with my Ashes of Creation Guild mates on week 1, ready to adventure, and fight for territories. Company politics, factions changes, excited open world PVP, to finally find a solid company group to join.

Unfortunately, bugs, lack of interesting content, and mutations nullifying the PVP fighting(OPR Queues/Company Territory pushes) experience is leading to me to take a step back from the game.

This game has so much potential. The core aspects and crafting system alongside the environment and sound design, are great. Unfortunately this is drowned out by a giant known issue list, horrible server stability, and a severe lack of QA on releases.

Instead of working on improving what's good and adding additional content, they are implementing cheesy daily mechanics, a broken "umbral/mutation" system to gate a 2% power advantage behind a PVE grind.

I really really wanted this game to succeed, however this game needs at least another year of development to hash out the issues and release new content. They also need to scrap the umbral/mutation system, and work to balance the games PVP(fix the LAG in wars....).

I'd highly suggest looking elsewhere for an MMO to play/invest time in, and keep an eye out on New World in a years time for a cheaper price(probably F2P), and a more polished experience.

Early Access Review
Can understand the need to test out server and tech mechanics. Personally not a fan of BR's so will be more excited to test out the actual MMORPG.

Pros:
Graphics look amazing to me
Community that supports AoC is great
Developers are overly transparent

Cons:
Its a BR Mode for testing
Animations are better then the last test, however still feel weird
Not being able to zoom out further
Hard to tell if you are hitting something
