According to my Steam achievements I really liked Red Faction: Guerrilla.

On the note of keyboard controls and racing games, did you know there's an "analog" keyboard that uses lasers to sense degrees of key motion? Crazy.

I have come to the conclusion that I am not good at racing games. Give me a real car any day of the week... controllers just don't cut it for driving sims!
