Alright. Gonna get a big negative out of the way first. Combat is extremely annoying.

You can block all day long, but you never have an opening. If you think you have an opening, you don't and the enemy will just instantly attack you when you click to swing, cancelling your melee attack and further punishing you while you recover from the animation. Ranged combat is no better because if an enemy starts charging you when you ready an attack, there is a good chance for your projectile to go through their body and disappear without causing any stagger or damage to them. All of this becomes further compounded when they start showing up with armor that *tinks* away every blow. It's also difficult to get your companion meant for combat to actually help you dispatch the millions of roaches because they wander off so frequently.

It forces you into the tedious process of cheesing the game to farm for materials for armor. Materials that have an annoyingly low stack amount. But armor usually breaks in a single hit and the game sends enough enemies at you daily to where enough of them WILL get a hit in with their broken mechanics, forcing you to farm more parts for armor instead of enjoying other parts of the game. Rinse and repeat.

That being said, the building system in this game has been a blast to play around with. If I weren't so far into my playthrough already, I would just turn enemies off and build like crazy. The environment is beautiful. Kelvin is a very welcome addition to the survival crafting genre as long as he's not chopping your tree fort down. It reminds me a little bit of Valheim in that your buildings need somewhat logical levels of support, but it is way more forgiving.

Regular price is ok but getting this on sale feels a hell of a lot better.

Short and sweet. Endless should offer plenty of replayability. Feels like a WarioWare minigame grew legs and did its own thing.

This is kind of a slog. I didn't even want to finish it. The enemies are annoying and not fun to play against. The levels can sometimes feel too cramped. The art style is beautiful and it makes you want to try and complete the game, but a bunch of small issues piling up finally made me put it down.

Really good. Lots of secrets to find. Dark and moody atmosphere. No reloading, which made the gun play more fun for me.

10/10 purely because the credits say "And You!" at the end.

Pretty good shooter. The early levels reminded me a lot of Doom 3. It does make its own identity for itself eventually, though. I love the visuals. The movement is really fun once fully upgraded. The guns feel diverse and they all have their own unique alt fire.

Unfortunately, the levels are mostly the same in the first 75% of the game. The enemy variety also stays fairly stale. Most newer enemies are just reskins of the older ones. If you showed me screenshots from the first 75% of the game, I probably wouldn't be able to tell how far into the game you are.

Overall, I think it's worth a try on sale.

Negatives first: The campaign is a little short, the enemy variety gets a little stale, and there are minor performance issues occasionally.

The positives: The physics are great; it's a lot of fun to throw props at enemies and there is a lot of techy stuff that you can do. The guns are satisfying and punchy. There is a good bit of replay value with various secrets, difficulty levels, and a survival mode. Nice crunchy graphics. I am in love with the art style. The environmental storytelling and the atmosphere are phenomenal. They really nailed the creepy cult vibes and although it's not really a horror game, I still found myself a little on edge in some sections.

I think it was aiming for a Doom feel, but I grew up with Duke Nukem and got a lot of nostalgia from it. Absolutely worth it at full price if you enjoy boomer shooters.

A little janky, but a lot of fun. Don't look up guides or tips until you're already well into the game. Part of the fun is discovery and making mistakes. Once you pass that hurdle, fine tuning your runs and learning ghost behaviors is so satisfying.

The DLC is just more of the same. Which is a good thing. If you adored Duke 3D back in the day, you will love Ion Fury and Aftershock. The racing section isn't nearly as bad as people make it out to be.

Great game if you like Rimworld, city builders, etc. I'm still in the early game, but I find it to be much slower paced than Rimworld. It's a very relaxing game to play. Your worst enemy will typically be yourself due to poor planning or just a general lack of game knowledge. Sometimes I like to let the game run on normal speed and watch the hustle and bustle of my city that actually looks and feels like real activity in a busy city from a bird's eye view.

It has a great tutorial that teaches you most of the basics. There is also a demo which is the full game, but backpedaled by a couple of updates. The developer is also active in the forums and takes constructive suggestions seriously.

I got it for what was said to possibly be the only sale ever, but I would gladly buy this at full price. Can't wait to see how much more detail and depth gets added to the game.
