It's fun and definitely worth a shot if you're interested in the Vietnam war or simulation. The story it tells is decent and fits the era.

I had a couple of bugs while playing and the map controls felt a bit janky at times (I would keep renaming thing while trying to press hotkeys and vice versa). I thought the campaign was a tad short and would have loved to play more missions.

This is a *=video game=*. All craftsdwarfship is of the highest quality. It is encircled with bands of adamantine. It menaces with spikes of goblin bone. On the item is an image of a dwarf. The dwarf is laboring. The artwork relates to the foundation of Steamreleased by Bay 12 Games in the early winter of 2022.

A matchmaking queue would make this game legendary. Hopefully more people pick it up as me and a friend didn't find any public lobbies and had to play 1v1 all day.

Currently playing the coop campaign with my group and I gotta say the missions are a lot of fun. Also like the soundscape and gun animations, really polished for Arma terms! Lot's of content, well worth the price tag.

Finally, a successor to SimGolf in which the little golfer sims seem to play realistic golf. I love being able to simulate the holes I made to quickly check if golfers would tackle my obstacles in ways I predicted and in my limited playtime I didn't have any issues with golfers trying to use fairway and greens from different holes or any of that craziness. The terrain tools are solid and course creation is easy, enabling you to build creative holes in a satisfying way. The futuristic setting is not for me and in that regard I didn't even interface with the crazy boost pads and bumpers you can place on your courses, but even for fans of the more classic approach to golf this game has a lot to offer.

That said, there are a few features this release is missing which would keep me engaged long-term. I need some more overarching goals to keep me going, for example character progression for my golfer, tournaments with specific requirements for your course like in the original sim golf or maybe some sort of campaign. It would be super cool to create multiple courses on different planets you'd be able to buy in some sort of franchise mode.

I did not find any sort of developer roadmap in my short google search, so I just hope that a few of these long-term goals make it into the game eventually, but for now I will recommend the game to fans of the genre. GolfTopia is a well-crafted golf course management game with great mechanics at a reasonable price tag.

Now with multiplayer! Building and decorating parks with your friends is so much fun. I know there is OpenRCT 2 and it also has a multiplayer mode, but you get desynced a lot and while the game is still great it isn't exactly modern. Parkitect allows you to come up with clever combinations of props to build truly amazing constructions with intuitive, easy to learn controls. Also, the coaster creator gives you such a huge degree of freedom considering the game is grid based. You can build super smooth rides and make them really pretty and themed. Oh, did I mention it has multiplayer?

Must buy for theme park fans and people like me, who would love to see more tycoon games with cooperative gameplay. Bring your friends!

If you're willing to dive into the complex setups you can achieve with trade routes and warehouses, then you can get a lot of enjoyment out of the game. You can turn a profit easily enough by just clicking together random trade routes and putting them on auto, but making a group of towns grow into big coastal cities, increasing their production capabilities, ensuring they have enough of a market to sell their overproduction at a reasonable price and supplying the towns with all the commodities the caribbean has to offer can be a real challenge.

So far, the campaign has been enjoyable. You have time limits to achieve your goals, but they are usually pretty generous, so you're not under too much pressure and have a bit of time exploring the sandbox elements, even in the campaign. The combat minigame is surprisingly fun, though I can't say that focussing on combat is even slightly as profitable as focussing on production and trade.

Next I will try to build a central warehouse in my main town and supply it with all the different commodities, selling my warehouse stock to the town automatically for a cheap price, then transporting all the goods I'm stockpiling to the surrounding towns. My city will grow into a paradise of trade and prosperity, while my viceroy will receive fleets of colonial goods to send back into the old world. If this sounds exciting to you, then this game is for you.

I cannot fully recommend the game to any fan of the genre as the content can seem a bit light on the surface and the price is way too steep for a video game with the delivered scale. I hope that the price will be adjusted to 20 to 30€ in the future, as that is what I would assume is a fair price. All in all that makes it a 6/10 for me and a slight recommendation.

Every three months you get a new batch of content for the game, while keeping all the old content around as well. If GGG keeps this up I can see myself still playing this game in 20 years!

Edit: Had to update my review as the direction the game is taking results in a worse player experience, at least for me. This has been the case for the last couple of leagues and considering the comments GGG is taking on the matter I doubt it will change any time soon.

Early Access Review
Had to refund the game after playing the tutorial and parts of the first mission. The timed objectives were a real disappointment; I want to be able to build interesting and efficient railroad networks, not be worked towards a single objective, constantly having to worry about completing side objectives before the main one times out and I miss out on experience. Not being able to determine which directions the trains travel along my double track was kind of irritating as well and the overall performance of the game was sub par. Especially laying track is tanking frames, making actually building the rail a little bit of a nightmare as half the clicks aren't being registered by the engine.

As a transport and train enthusiast I had to find out - to my surprise - that this is not a game for me. All in all I expect more of a game from a 22€ purchase, even if it is in early access. An available sandbox mode maybe would have persuaded me to not refund it, I am glad that it is at least shown as a planned feature.
