This action RPG is probably my favorite computer game in any category, and it's the standard with which i judge (and feel let down by) other action RPGs.
Yes the game engine looks a bit clunky and did even back when it was released,
yes the weapons mechanics are kinda crappy,
but it doesn't matter, because it's such a well made adventure, interesting world, memorable well written NPCs and dialogues, quests that I actually feel interested by and care about and actual choices in regards to factions.
There are so many games that claim to be "actions have consequences" games, but most often they don't really seem to matter, or they only matters in one out of several possible "endings". In this game it actually feels like they matter while the game is still going, even early in the game.
Even though it's a goofy world it's still meaningful and interesting, choices are not always obvious. Skills actually matter for what you can achieve. And many choices lock you out from other options further in the game, instead of letting you have everything in every single playthrough. I would say if you are at all used to playing shooter games with a mouse and keyboard, you should go for the highest difficulty setting and hardcore for it to be a little more meaningful challenge, letting you enjoy the game for a little longer, making you consider your decisions just a little more, and even then it can be a bit too easy after you level up a bit into the game, but it's still challenging enough that it doesn't get boring, and there is some possibility that you will still make fatal mistakes.

Another great thing is the modability and the many mods from the community, mods that stay faithful to the game, story and universe, but improves certain aspects like fixing bugs and adding details that makes the game more reasonable for modern computers, making it more challenging, adding some cut content but within reason, this has really kept it alive for me.
Not to forget the DLCs that are really great and actually added a lot of new gameplay almost like an extra game, like what you'd want from a DLC. Except for "the lonesome road", I really didn't get that one with it's whiny tone and minimal characters, but the other ones were really great and very big in terms of added gameplay.

I think I've played this game to death by now, and found all the interesting things I want to find. But that is only after playing it more than any other game since 2014 or so! No other game has kept my interest for so long.
