Early Access Review
I want to say right off the bat that at the time of writing this review, my playtime is only around 7~ hours on Steam. I'll be honest and let you know that I pirated this game, and put about 50~ hours into it, before I got round to buying it. Glad I did because it's one of the best early access games I've played.

----------------------------------------

Gameplay: The gameplay is insanely fun and varied. Couple a wide variety of playable characters with a huge amount of useable items and enemies and you've got one hell of an experience. The game is constantly ramping up the difficulty, forcing you to adapt your playstyle all the time. No run is the same with random item drops and enemy spawns, and each boss encounter keeps you on your toes, even two hours into a run. And I do mean two hours; if you're skilled at the game and the RNG treats you just right, you can become a god, decimating swathes of enemies before they even get a chance to attack you. There are a couple balancing issues with certain characters being weaker than others, and some bosses can unfairly one-shot you, but you can just git gud and the frequency of this will lessen.

Graphics: I really dig the lo-fi artstyle of the game. Each character, enemy and item is unique and well modeled, with just enough detail to stand out. The particle effects are lovely too. The UI is decent, but could use a bit of work; holding tab to see your items can be a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ mid-game.

Sound/Music: The music is incredible. Go listen to it on youtube, it's lovely. Fast paced and atmospheric. Sound effects are great too (the sound of a Stone Titan charging and firing it's beam gives me chills every time).

Replayability: Plenty of content in the game already, and there's only going to be more added. Each run is never the same and keeps you guessing as to what is going to happen next. Late/End-game can be a bit boring once you've mastered monsoon difficulty but there are a few mods out there that ramp up the challenge and change gameplay. Once game modifiers are introduced we'll have a crazy amount of replayability.

Multiplayer: Playing with friends is a blast as it increases enemy spawns and difficulty. Playing with randoms can be fun but also frustrating as there's no item share, or any way to drop items you don't need and want your co-op partner to have. Expect to have your ♥♥♥♥ stolen frequently if you're not playing with people you know. Modders can also join public games and mess up your experience too, but I haven't had this happen too often to be a huge issue.

Overall, in it's current state, I would rate this game 9/10. It's almost perfect as it is and I'm excited to see what the future holds for this game.
