So when i made this review i feel like i was lost in a sense of nostalgia and really a overall loss of sense in reality. This game is fun but what makes it fun is that it is a zombie like shooter that also came out around the Xbox 360 era and i enjoyed it a lot on the Xbox but thats when public vs and campaign were more or less the game as a whole. The idea of playing as infected as much as the concept from the first game made left 4 dead 2 so much fun including new infected like charger, jockeys and the spitter. This made the game fresh and more intense and overall the 3 included infected paired well together and were unique and created some pretty cool setups and teamwork. Left 4 dead as a game is usually seen by its Campaign side and as much as i love the Campaign and playing through each of the maps its one of those games were the ai is buggy as all hell and it starts to feel to easy even for expert mode. Which is why i started looking into versus mode. I started hanging out in public vs lobbies hoping to relive such nostalgia but instead i got either people saying the nword or people who would cheat. This doesnt include the amount of times where survivor is just broken and uses t2s snipers to just 1 tap infected making the vs mode almost unplayable. Not to mention the point system, which goes based off if both teams made saferoom and which infected team did more dmg you would earn 25 points if you won dmg but this causes games to be practically impossible because as long as you make the saferoom you wouldnt need to care about dmg because all you would need to do is wipe the other team. So after awhile i started to look into something more competitive something that would involve me with teamwork and fun si play. I started to look in a mod called zonemod which was this competitive config that was played throughout pugs and scrims and even had a website with its own mmr system. the way they score points felt so much more balanced and the way you could only use t1 weapons and si dmg wasnt so strong it felt like you could actually have a decent game of left 4 dead 2 but it doesnt end there. As much as there are good things about the game there are its downsides. Such as the lack of na players recently, the game is usually just SA players or EU players with occasionally some NA players. Although you could find most NA players through discord servers and get games they're mainly played without the "mmr factor" which is fine if you want a good game. But for the people who want mmr and to play like that you're most likely going to lack communication throughout your l4d2 comp experience. Luckly if you learn the basics like "GOGOGO" "BACK" "HIT" you should do just fine but thats also just a thin line if you think about it. SA players refuse to learn any English to help you out so you're probably on your own. there are so eu players who will speak english but still theres a lack of communication as a problem. Lately there are cheaters and you wont really be able to tell whos legit and whos not and you could be playing a game and have no idea if the other player is cheating. I still recommend friend pugs because its probably the best way to play left 4 dead with 8 people who play a certain way and its easy to communicate and learn. i think left 4 dead overall is a fantastic game but as any game it has a bunch of cons as well. Workshop is pretty fun for those who are casual and vs mode is alright if you dont mind Nwords occasionally and players who bhop across the map.
