The DLC is 5/10 for me.

+ Something new to do for about 4-5 hours
+ New cosmetics
+ No bugs overall

- No new map integrated with the existing map (you can't travel by foot or actually see it on the map)
- Fast travel options are lazy.
From Old Villedor to The Carnage you have to fast travel once to get to this van and fast travel second time to go to the Carnage. That's pointless, I would much prefer to be able to go there when I want on foot and should be incorporated in the whole map.
- No new enemy types
- No new combat moves
- Overall nothing new in terms of gameplay
+/- Story I guess, I mean it's there

This in my opinion is not what we expect 9 months after launch. New area should have been added - on the map and actually large playable new area which can be traveled to by foot if the player wants. After all it's a parkour zombie game.
I don't care about the story too much. I just don't play this game for the story but for the gameplay. I want more parkour moves, more weapon animations. For example I play with a katana but there are only 2 animations of swinging the katana. I want more variety, more cutting animations, more fluid execution.
There is need for new features, cool we have some new cosmetics and kind of a new area but what needs updates is the gameplay and also optimization of the game. There has been an improvement since launch for sure but you can't tell me that lagging constantly the first 4 minutes every time you log into the city is acceptable. It's really annoying and should be fixed.
Anyway 5/10 for this DLC, looking forward to the next one.

So after completing I think everything possible in this game (I have finished all the DLCs with 100%) I can confidently say that it was worth every second of playtime.

The game is amazing, it's polished almost everything except some minor bugs that I encountered through my 42 hours of playtime. Everything is solid, mechanics, gameplay, everything you can think of.

The combat is terrific. It's smooth as butter, with some exceptions, but they are so minor that I don't even care. Everything is fluid, all the moves are moving one by one seamlessly. The swinging is amazing as well. I can go forever just doing tricks in the air and enjoying the city. There are so many options that even after competing everything I still find new things that I didn't know I can do. Everything is on your disposal, you can play however you want. You have the tools to do whatever and play however you want.

Story wise I personally don't need a very deep story to be entertained so don't take my word for it that much. The story for me is entertaining enough. It has it's good moments and I never felt bored of playing it and that counts for all of the DLCs. The progression is satisfying. You are rewarded for everything you do.

Overall it doesn't need much explaining, it's worth to try the game for sure. And I'm sure you'll have fun in this game.

Edit 1
After a substantial time invested in the game I can change this review.

I've completed I would say 98% of the content that this game provides: story, side quests, airdrops, everything that needs unlocking, easter eggs (most of them). I don't count collectibles because I'm not crazy enough to do that.

Gameplay, mechanics

I have to admit that most of my concerns for the game in the beginning are gone, parkour wise, gameplay wise as a whole. As I invested more time in skills and actually understanding the parkour system I actually started to like it and now I think it's great. It's very different from the first game but once you get used to it, it really hits different and it's satisfying when you do it right.
Paraglider needs upgrades to actually be viable for use, same goes for the hook.
Also one more thing...
REMOVE THE ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ FOG

Story
Spoilers

Story wise after doing the story 2 more additional times to see other endings I'm still a little bit confused about the motives of Waltz but I have far clearer idea of whats going on why I'm doing certain things. The story still isn't the best in my opinion but it's interesting nonetheless. I love the ending where the herald tells everyone that dusk is in one hour and wishes them "Good night and good luck". It just hits different. Reminds me of the previous slogan and actually I think it's really cool slogan and I still prefer it better than "Stay human" It just gives me a really cool vibe cus the trailer for DL1 was awesome, but I digrace. The story is rich with options even tho not that many matter in the end it is still really immersing.

Multiplayer/Co-op

Now that I have tried the co-op with some friends I have a lot to say about that. It needs a lot of work. DL1 had great co-op experience and tbh there aren't any bugs that encountered while playing. It was truly great gaming experience.
DL2 though is a whole different story. Yes I know it's a new game and Techland have said they are going to work on that but still I don't think it's a lot to ask to have a properly working co-op experience when paying 60 euro on a game.
The singleplayer was great I didn't encounter bugs but multiplayer is filled with them:
- crashing for 1 or more players in the game sessions.
- random stutters (every frame goes from 80 to 60 fps and it just cuts the scene entirely and that is consistent not for a second) and it doesn't stop until you restart the whole game and sometimes that even doesn't fix it
- quests can't be finished, don't appear
- cutscenes loading differently for 1 or more ppl in game session
- cutscenes loading with annoying black screens (with DL1 it was really fluid, you all go to the place and it just happens for everyone simultaneously)
- clunky animations for avatars, glitching everywhere when using ropes, hook, paraglider, some parkour moves
- activation of certain structures is just annoying, for windmills, substations and metros you need all players to activate it just for the cinematic to happen which in my opinion is annoying
- general performance issues when trying to play co-op, disconnects, failed join, low fps with no apparent reason on pretty descent machines which are above recommended specifications.

The co-op needs a lot of work because it's annoying at best and unplayable at worst.

First review before edit

As a fan of the original I would say it was a decent game. In my opinion though it seems that DL1 was better with it's overall mechanics, atmosphere, soundtrack, etc.

Gameplay, mechanics

Even though they did manage to upgrade somewhat the gameplay, parkour system, NPCes, quests and so on the game feels wonky. It is well polished, at least in my experience I didn't get a lot of glitches and bugs.
The wonkiness comes from the actual gameplay, the skill tree didn't satisfy me as well as the previous game, I didn't feel that excitment over getting a new level and a new skill. Some of the skills that they brought from DL1 are not as good as in the first game. An easy example is the jump kick that was really fun in DL1, at least it wasn't fun for me in DL2. The parkour system is fine I guess with those upgrades, didn't really found out if I enjoy it or not cus at times it was smooth and satisfying but the same goes for when it was total a**. The paraglider is fun at times but I didn't really like that adition. The rope wasn't fun for me as the hook in DL1 was.
Overall I would say I'm kinda disappointed with it's mechanics and parkour system. But that is my opinion.

Story
Spoilers

The story in the beginning is catchy. 15 years after The Fall as they call it. They put you in a world that has begun a new interesting civilization. You are a "Pilgrim" as they call them, an outsider wandering the wastelands of the Earth.
(You come to this fictional city in what assume is central Europe from the cinematic in the loading screen of the game. Seems like a city between Switzerland and Italy, but that is only my theory I have no idea if it's true.)
Anyway you come in this city a bunch of things happen, you help a lot to civilians, to a bunch of factions, basically what Crane was doing in DL1 but on steroids. The story revolves around finding your sister because you were separated by a doctor named Waltz, and so on and so on without getting into too much of the story. So my thoughts about it... I'm not impressed... that much. As I said it was intriguing in the first 10 hours when you have no idea what's happening, everything is new, but the problem comes here. After those 10 or so hours I still found myself trying to understand what is going on with the story. I'm not the best at rating good writing or whatever but I was mostly confused on why I was doing a lot of things and I still have no idea why I was trying to find my sister.
Anyway I would say that I liked DL1's story better.

Final thoughts

After finishing the game with one of it's endings I would say overall it was fun. The game has a lot to offer as content. For me the quests weren't really repetitive, I think it was fun. Parkour was a little disappointing at least for now, maybe when I get all of the skills a will think differently. Still needs some polishing in some areas.

Real fun game with friends or by yourself. The difficulty is a problem in the first few runs but then it gets repetitive, that's the only issues.

Very nice game, really entertaining, especially with friends. The cons to this is that I have 8 friends playing it and we have to do a lot of procedures to get in one session and play together but that is understandable.

Also after all of the updates there are a lot of things to do but it's awesome.

9/10 because of that inability to play with more than 3 friends.

EDIT after playing for 1000 hours more.

The game is great and it's fun when it works properly. My issues are with the PvP because I have always been teleporting or hitregging. The teleportation stuff I have no explanation about it. I'm on a stable LAN optic connection and it happens consistently when I get into face to face combat with weapons. My enemy is teleporting, I'm teleporting. At one point it got so bad I left the game for 2 months because I have lost so many battles because of this stupid issue.
On the other hand hitreg has been plaguing the game since forever. I have not suffered that much from it due to the previous issue so I'm avoiding face to face combat but I have been on the receiving end of backtracking countless times.

The game overall is fun and interesting as stated in my first review but these constant issues with ping and hitreg are the worst and are discouraging me to play any actual PvP due to just not being able to do anything except stay on the ship. Now with the new season 8 which is 99% PvP update there is no way to avoid the issue. I can only hope one day this is a problem of the past but the game is out for more than 4 years and I have been here for 2 of those years and there is still this persisting problem.
