I am not sure if I can recommend that game, it is nice, and I am kinda enjoying it right now, but the combats have one major flaw, which really ruins it for me :
If an enemy attacks you, you need to dodge those attacks, and the enemy will follow you, which is nice, but dodging moves you further away from the enemie's spawn point, and if you're getting too far away from the spawn point, they will run back towards the spawn and instantly regenerate all their life, even if they were just next to you before... This is for me a major flaw and I have absolutely no idea why the developers implemented it that way, what were they thinking?... The enemies don't even need to run far from the spawn point, only 20 meters or so... This is especially bad if you're fighting bosses (imagine fighting a difficult boss for 20 minutes straight, where you consumed all your health potions, then the boss goes back to the spawn with full health...), and certain attacks can also push them too far away from the spawn point, which would heal them entirely...

Dear developers : Please, if you're making a GreedFall II, don't make that same mistake anymore...

EDIT : Now that I finished GreedFall, I give it a 7/10, it is really good but also sometimes really annoying at the same time, annoying because it has many small issues I#ll list bellow:

- The issue I mentioned above is pretty bad, but I kinda got used to it by trying to stay as close as possible to the ennemie's spawn point

- The map is divided in regions, and each region is kinda like a "maze" that has walls everywhere, those walls are sometimes visible, sometimes they aren't, so if you want to go from a point A to a point B, you need to constantly open the map otherwise you might take the wrong path or you get stuck at a dead end. => The issue here is that there's no minimap that is constantly visible on the screen, that would have been really helpful.

- Fast travel works from checkpoint to checkpoint, but there are not enough checkpoints, sometimes you need to walk quite a bit to reach a checkpoint => It would have been less annoying if we could fast travel from anywhere.

- Certain side quests take hours to finish because you constantly need to move from a point A, to a Point B, to a point C, then back to point A, then back to point C etc. The fast travel issue makes it worse.

Then for the rest, this game is amazing, I enjoyed the story, the characters are well written, many choices that have a true impact, multiple endings, and to get the best possible ending, I would suggest to do all side quests. Without the issues I mentioned above, it would have been a 9/10 easily.

But can I still recommend this game? The issues I mentioned are annoying and will probably discourage a lot of players to continue playing this game.

Early Access Review
This product got released the 16th July 2021, so after one and a half year I expected some content, or at least a social platform that works, but :
- Constant crashing, in 30 minutes of playtime I had to restart the game 3 times, one time the menu totally broke, the UI was gone, and I couldn't click anything.
- When the master leaves, everyone gets kicked out of the instance.
- Full body tracking works, but the tracking is weird
- Only 8 worlds.
- Only 5~6 avatars to chose from, and some of them have a broken IK.
- No one is playing it, when me and my friends joined we were the only one playing it.
- Mirror totally broken in VR.
- Audio is not 3D spacialized, when someone talks to me I can only hear that person from one ear.
- Desktop experience is also not nice because the camera is really "wobbly".
- Some graphic settings don't look nice at all in VR.

A social platform on the Unreal Engine sounds really promissing, but this is not it, at least not yet. This platform got released way too soon, it's not "early access", more like "pre-alpha testing", and for 4 bucks I just cannot recommend it.

It is a really fun puzzle game with a lot of humor, it works well with remote play, but it is way too short, I finished the main quests in only 3 hours.
Get it during sales...

Since I am a total noob IRL, I can't judge the in-game physics, but it's a really fun game! (I would say even more fun than IRL since you don't need to pick up the ball)
  • Just make sure that you have a big enough room, I would say 2m x 1.50m minimum.
  • To play online you need a good enough internet connection, or you will see the ball teleporting, if the ping is above 100ms it starts to become hard to play.
  • The paddle is basically glued to the controller, so if your controller is tightly strapped to your wrist (like the valve index controller) you will have more troubles to play with your wrist, but that small issue didn't ruined the experience for me.

You can cut enemies in half in a very satisfying way.

If you like Doom, you will probably like this game too.

This was my first VR game, it's in my opinion the perfect VR game to start in the VR world, it doesn't require a very good PC and it doesn't cause motion sickness for most people, so it's great to get used to VR.

It's a fun game, you don't need to be good in rhythm games in general, and you get better over time (after 10 hours I was able to finish most hard levels quite easily, right now I have some troubles to finish expert levels).

GTX1080 strix edition, 24GB RAM, i7-6800k, Windows 8.1 (DX11). It runs at around 60fps on high/ultra at 1440p.

In average I had to restart the game every 30 minutes because the game kept freezing after some time, sometimes I even had to restart my PC because nothing worked anymore, my drivers are up to date, many had similar issues with DX12 but I am using DX11, so I may be one of the only one who experienced freezings with DX11, could be a faulty driver, I don't know, that's why I will still recommend this game, because freezings aside the game is really good and in my opinion the best from the Metro franchise.

The game is a bit different from the previous Metro games, in the previous Metro games you were only playing in Moscow, here you're actually moving outside Moscow so the environments are much more diverse, there's a jungle level, desert level etc.
I would also say that the game is now a bit closer to Sniper Elite, or Ghost Warrior Contracts : Some levels are open world, with different objectives and side quests on the map, which is something I really liked.

My biggest complain (freezings aside) : The controls could be better, for some reason Artyom tends to get up from the crouching positon after he shoots (quite annoying if you want to stay unnoticed), you can sometimes hurt yourself for going down the stairs (life does not regenerate), you can die from a 2m high fall, and sometimes you get stuck by small props on the ground (which is annoying if you need to run away from an enemy and a small basket blocks your path).

Minor ending spoiler ahead : there's a good and a bad ending, you can look up on Google " How to get the good ending in Metro Exodus " for additional infos, (just be careful to not get spoiled).
If you're too afraid to get spoiled on Google, here's basically what you need to do : be a good guy, helping others, avoid mass homicides (you can knock out ennemies instead) etc.

In my opinion this game is better than "Stick of Truth", I love :
  • The improved fights, there's now a grid system where you can move around freely, so you need to place your characters correctly and coordinate your attacks, each attack has a different reach.
  • The improved gameplay, with puzzles etc.
  • The improved humor, but you need to like fart jokes tho, also the humor has a higher trigger potential (which I personally like).

You don't need to be a fan of South Park or a South Park expert to appreciate this game.

I haven't finished the game yet (21 hours playtime), I will update the review once I finished it.

To summarize: Middle age simulator 2018, you may or may not like this game, personally I like it :
  • If you don't sleep every day, you will be very tired and might fall asleep in the middle of the city.
  • If you don't eat, you might starve.
  • If you eat too much, you'll be stuffed and loose some endurance.
  • Getting dirty lowers your charisma, in that case you need to wash yourself. You also need to repair your equipments sometimes. The food can spoil.
  • Looting a corpse is in some cases illegal and you can get fined.
  • You can't read in this game, but you can learn it, which is very useful later in the game.
  • The region existed IRL, I also compared some cities like Rattay on Google Street view and they are surprisingly very similar, I recognized a few buildings and places even thought the game takes place in the year 1400!
  • The characters existed IRL, the story also seems to be quite accurate, but I'm not a historian, I trust Wikipedia here...
  • The quests are realistic, often related to religion, stealing, the pest...
Anything seems very realistic, that's why I like it, but the game has a few issues I wanted to share:
  • A few bugs that are really annoying, I encountered 2 quests that didn't worked properly (one quest didn't gave me any rewards after I finished it (the quest "Rattled"), there's also one quest I cannot continue because I cannot talk to a particular NPC).
  • At the beginning, you suck in sword fights, after playing this game for 60 hours I can say that it gets easier, but it's still very hard (I still can't fight two armored bandits at the same time) this isn't really an issue itself, but ouside cities the probabiliy to get ambushed is actually very high, and when you get ambushed you're not getting ambushed by one bandit, it's generally 3 or 4 bandits, and the chances to get out of this situation is actually very low since you're not an MMA fighter, for new players I actually recommend to not stay on the road and to travel through the woods, bandits ambush on the road.
  • I don't like the saving system, to save the game you need to drink a saving Schnapps, which costs about 110 Groshen, that's a hell lot of money! For comparison some quests gives you 50 Groshens, others 200, and a Bretzel costs 1 Groshen. Thankfully there are other saving methods, sleeping on your bed saves the game, and sleeping at a hostel also (but it costs 2 Groshens, still a lot cheaper than drinking the Schnapps).
I am still playing this game, I haven't finished it yet.
