TL;DR: Game network is horrible (SA region), gameplay need to get some work but it's mostly fine I guess.

I really wanted to like this game, but there are a lot of concerning issues that plagued most matches I joined in.

First off the bat is the network integrity, it's utterly obnoxious (at least in SA region). The game can be very laggy at times. Most matches I joined in I had this text saying that there's a bad connection with the mastermind (game host) throughout the entirety of the playthrough. It's not horribly laggy to the extent of seeing teleportations and all that lag magic gamers should be well acquainted, it's mostly doable, but a nuisance. Matchmaking takes a lot of time. Despite some reviews saying that they released an update to fix this issue, it still sucks, I take about roughly 3-4 minutes to find a match on queue, which is kind of odd, because my first matches didn't take longer than two minutes to join in. Most of that time waiting it seems to occur that there's a very frequent oscillation of people joining and leaving a lobby for unknown reasons. Frankly, if that's a fix, it's not good enough. They seriously need to work this up, in my region at least.

As for the gameplay, it's not too bad. Like I said earlier, I wanted to like this game, because I actually had fun playing. There's only one map you can play in the open beta, so it can get boring pretty fast as soon as you're well acquainted with every nook and cranny on the map. As for the players, I'll first address the role of mastermind because a lot of people under the reviews section really didn't like how some of his features plays out. Ok yeah, he can spawn stuff in your face. It bugged me at first, but it's not really that big of a deal honestly. Might need to do some nerfing on mr X's abilities, but I think he's mostly fine. Most of the gameplay seems solid to me. The survivors seem well balanced. Teamwork plays a paramount role for the survivors team, because you can literally get screwed over by one sluggish and incompetent person. This is where my major complaint comes in to the gameplay. The game is structured so that all four survivors must progress together. The map is divided in different sections and you can only progress through these sections when everyone gathers on the section exit. That said, if for instance everyone but ONE person is not following these simple steps, it's game over man, you're done. I for one went through this frustration where one of our teammates was walking over the map like a dazzled cockroach or something. We had more than 4 MINUTES, and we lost the match because of that one person. There is no vote kick in the open beta. It might not be a bad idea that add that in the full game.

I know this is the open beta, I hope this is taken for feedback to improve the game because I see potential in it. I kind of support that capcom should do another resident evil outbreak, but maybe they should do that as an entirely different AAA game in the future. Resistance fits for a quick, Oubreak/L4D hybrid type of game.

TLDR: Unless you like WW2 and got lots of patience to handle disproportionate stupidity in the battlefield, I cannot recommend this game.

MoW 2 is great on many aspects. It's fun to play with friends, factions are fun and somewhat balanced, and overall entertaining RTS gameplay. However, I cannot recommend this game for the sole reason that the AI can be very incompetent on its own and it becomes unbearable on the long-term playthrough. To give an example, I have played MoW Assault Squad 2 with friends since I bought it. It's a blast playing with friends, but something always perturbed me, and that being how the units' AI behave sometimes. I ordered one of my soldiers to throw a frag grenade in a reachable nearby trench, for example, but what he does instead is he unexplicably runs straight to said trench and gets shot to death. Another example is AT guns being incredibly stupid by switching from AP to HE ammo shell when there's a tank less than 10 meters nearby. If you want everything to go according to plan, you'll need to do insane micro managing and manual controlling to your units because the AI can't most things right as intended, and that can be very exhausting. There'll always be thought of something going wrong with simple matters on every next move you do because of how unreliable the AI is.

A sublime and unique visual opus to be contemplated

Gameplay: The gameplay follows the tradition of the platform genre with some unique elements, such as the skill tree and the many different powers existent throughout the game. It's nothing too appealing personally, but there's some fun in it.

Story: By the time I am writing this review, I have not yet beaten the game, but I've played long enough to say that the story has been intriguing since the very beginning. Moreover, it is well crafted and demonstrates great erudition from the devs's.

Graphic: Ori and the Blind Forest is one of those games that will forever mark a great achievement in the game industry for its exquisite visual design. It's an amazing thing to behold and to have inspiration, this is the major aspect that highlights the game overall.

Sound: The Sound design is outstanding. The soundtrack is something I'd compare with Journey's, it's just lovely to listen to. And the sound FX is really well produced, it makes the world feel alive.

It's like Bob Ross had deep depression and started painting

TLDR; Wow, just wow, I am amazed with how this game turned out to be. I've been waiting for quite a while to see the final version of this game, and I was not disappointed at all. Props for the devs for delivering an outstanding experience.

There's many different aspects to cover up, so I'll divide the review in each.

Gameplay
The Gameplay is pretty simple, you have a main objective to accomplish in each Chapter. The manner on how you'll do your objective will depend on the decisions you make throughout the game. You can explore different areas for items and discovers new places during the day, and you survive against attacks and supernatural events in your safehouse during the night. Everything is executed nicely. Though the constant backtracking can be quite tiresome.

Graphics
Darkwood's artistic design is the most astonishing thing I've seen in a survival horror game. The artstyle alone had me convinced to purchase the game on Early Access and fund the further development of the game 2 years ago. Honestly, if it wasn't for the incredible artistic work this game received, most people wouldn't care to spend their money on it, for it is the fundamental aspect that embodies the survival horror genre within the game. Had this game been made as a walking simulator (which is fine if done right), with emphasis on storyline, I'd still be amazing, because the level of visual detail on characters, objects, and enviroment would still make a fascinating experience.

Soundtrack
Well performed audio production. From the main menu theme song to the footstep sounds indoors, it all gives a feeling of suspense and disconcertment throughout the game. Excellent.

Storyline
I still got to beat the game, but from what I've seen, I am impressed. The game is divided in Chapters. Each Chapter takes places in a different scenario. Each scenario is filled with characters and items you find that tell the story of the game, and it takes about 10+ hours to finish a Chapter depending on how you play. By the time I was about done with all the areas in Chapter 1, I thought the game was about the end, until I got suprised with 'Chapter 2' screen. The story goes pretty far.

For a Indie Survival Horror game, Darkwood is a work of art. It brought a unique, revitalizing style to the survival horror genre, and should be taken as reference on how to make a indie game right

Season 3 started really well, fresh new beginning with fresh new characters with a fresh new story, and Clementine was the cherry on the cake, stealing almost every scene with her; But it started losing its touch in the final episodes, the integrity of the game was greatly diminished by the poor execution of screenwriting with poor character development and choices becoming redundant and fillers becoming frequent, it got boring fast. As a great fan of TWD this has to be the worst TWD game released. It didn't come near in bringing the level of emotion I got in the previous games, and gives me the premonition that the series are going to die soon.

UPDATE: The devs fixed server technical issues, making the game a lot more playable (hooray!).

I'm gonna give a rundown regarding the game's current status:

The good:
-Despite all the technical issues, this is a well-made game for a indie company, it's fun to play with friends, and although I'm not a fan of the movie franchise, the movie atmosphere is quite present, the feeling of paranoia of being hunted down by a killing machine is well illustrated.
This is a game that was meant to be played with a microphone, it demands teamwork to survive and escape the carnage and that is a pretty interesting gameplay element.

The bad:
-By the time I'm writing this updated review I've spent 30 hours in this game and I've found inumerous game-breaking glitches throughout my playthrough. There was this one time where I was about the call cops and Jason broke the fuse box as soon as I picked up the telephone, I glitched and got stuck on the phone, and Jason had noticed that so he left me glitched on the phone there and went to hunt the other counselors. There were also inumerous times that I've seen players getting stuck on windows and myself while escaping from Jason, and the glitch list goes on. This is understandable for a game that was released by a indie company recently, but it should be a matter that must be fixed as soon as possible for the sake of the integrity of the game.

Final Verdict:

This is a great game, it's flawed but still fun, promising and playable. The devs promised to add Single Player mode on Summer and that is exciting news because this game looks quire promising by its current state. If you want to get the game without having to worry about glitches or any technical issues then I suggest you to wait for updates, but if you are a hardcore fan of the movie franchise, then it's totally worth grabbing a copy of this game right now.
