Its hard to sequel a great game such as cities skylines! A revolutionary and well crafted title that is loved by many for its realistic simulation and endless creativity, with the addition of mods and almost eight years of constant DLC and fine tuning, creating a sequel that captured what made cities skylines 1 a success was going to be a challenge.

Lets get the elephants out of the room

Yes the performance is terrible (especially on lower end pc's)
Yes the amount of base content is lacking (especially compared to cities 1's vast DLC content list)
Yes the game has many bugs which can be frustrating at times

However it is great to see that the series has gone in the right direction when it comes to want the community wants and improves upon many areas of the game, its nice to see that paradox and colossal order have listened to the community when it comes to the issues that cities 2 has and have been working hard to address these.

Recently it seems that community's, game developers and publishers have have very different ideas on what they want from games however in the case of cities skylines 2 it seem that everybody is on the same page and knows what they want from this title. As such i have full faith in the devs that they will address these issues and continue to improve the game.


Overall whist i do think that the game should of been delayed and more beta testing should of been conducted i can see that this has the potential to become a true predecessor to cities skylines 1. I do believe that the game just need more time and a little more love to iron out the kinks and smooth out the edges.

Is the game worth £42? To me yes, to you maybe no, but upon review of this game in a years time i do think that the feedback will be vastly positive, the game just needs time before it can spread it wings and show us what it is capable of.

this is an amazing game that is easy, has loads of creativity and has no limits, this is the best coaster and park builder in the world.
