This game has come a long way from its initial release. It has now delivered on all of its initial promises, and then some. It is now well worth the purchase.

50 some hours isn't a lot of time to put into this game compared to some people that play it, but it's 50 some more hours than what overkill deserves.

I really liked PayDay 2. I was promised a lot with PayDay 2, like everyone else was. A customizable safehouse. Fancy DLCs. Bonuses from doing Crimefests that would be free for all involved.

Instead I was given microtransactions: something I was promised I would never have to deal with.

I put up with all the paid DLC for this game; I even bought a decent amount of it. I wanted to support the developers! I figured they deserved more money for their game.

And then Crimefest 2015 happened. Imagine the CS:GO skin system, but those skins actually provide bonuses to the guns. And all the base guns were nerfed because why not. And the harmless mods that changed appearances of guns were invalidated (presumably because it interfered with the new skin system). And then they told the community they'd address these complaints after their PR/sales event was over.

I'm not going to do it anymore. Overkill isn't getting any more of my money . Their DLCs and their game aren't worth my time if they're going to try to pull ♥♥♥♥ like this. My only regret is that I didn't see this happening sooner so I couldn't have refrained from making the purchases at all. Don't buy this game. Don't fall for it. There are plenty of other fun co-op games to play instead.

Error: Steam Unavailable. I originally purchased this game in its Alpha stage. Things progressed as more and more got developed, yay. A lot was broken or unexplained, but it was in alpha, so I let it slide. Today, after taking a long hiatus of StarForge, I scrolled through its news to see that an official 1.0 release had happened. I was ecstatic! The trailer for the final release looked good, so I went to launch the game, and... Error: Steam Unavailable. I rushed to the forums and to Google, surely there must be a fix.

No, there wasn't. People suggested reinstalling VC++ redist. That didn't work. People suggested verifying the integrity of the game cache. That didn't work. People suggested reinstalling the game. That didn't work. People suggested restarting Steam. That also didn't work. The important part in this, beyond "none of these suggestions worked" is that the only people that made suggestions for these fixes were regular people. Not the developers, even though there are heaps of people complaining about this same mystery error. The one that won't even let me get past the main loading screen.

Luckily for me, StarForge doesn't freeze on that error screen. It's kind enough to exit itself so I don't have to go to the hassle of alt-tabbing or... y'know... chucking my tower out of my forth floor window because I've already seen that error message 8 times today.

Unluckily for me (and for CodeHatch), because of this game-breaking error, StarForge can't even be considered a game. It's a unity launch window followed by an animated loading screen and five seconds of an error screen. I would rather reread my old college textbooks than try launching this one more time.

0/10, DO NOT BUY THIS GAME.

I'm not sure why this game received such low reviews. I hear it used to be not the caliber it is, but I just played it for a solid hour and it was a blast. Seriously the most fun I've had in a long time. 8/10, would recommend.

Gone Home has one of the most gripping, beautiful stories that I have yet to see in a videogame. It brought me to tears in a way that no other title, even ones by billion-dollar companies, has been able to do. Play this game. If there is one Indie purchase you make in 2014, let it be Gone Home, and smack that play button as soon as it finishes installing.
