Great up until it started requesting a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ CD key for a game I payed out like £40 for. Thanks for taking my money for 5 hours worth of game time you useless bunch of ♥♥♥♥♥. What a bunch of ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥.

I believe you can get the CD key you need with the following steps:

1) Open Steam => Library
2) Click on "Farcry Primal"
3) On the far right side of the game page under "Links" you should see a "CD Key" link

This will popup a window containing the CD key you'll need. Most games will allow you to use the "Copy to clipboard" button to just copy & paste the CD Key in. I agree though - I've never seen a Steam purchase ask me for the CD key during gameplay.
