This game is definitely very good and worth playing. However it has got some quirks which disappoint me deeply...

+ gigantic world
+ ♥♥♥♥ load of quests and points of interest
+ beautiful graphics, now even better after the next gen update
+ the gwent card game is very well implemented solution to the boring pure luck based dice poker.
+ Heart of Stone DLC does have quite interesting story
+ some quests are also well done and give og Witcher 1 vibes (Djikstra's treasure, finding the murderer who hurt Priscilla)
+ huge variety of enemies
+ you can do a skill reset almost as much as you wish
+ lots of references to books or previous witcher games
+ its the complete opposite of the trash netflix series
+ imported tattoo from the witcher 2

- EXTREMELY uninteresting skills in the skill tree
- the blood and wine mutations do not really bring much improvements to the combat, it just pretty much enhances your stats.
- leveling up takes soooooooo much time and offers no real excitement of getting a new skill.
- the combat system is very primitive, you can literally beat anything (even monsters 20 levels higher than you) by just spamming left mouse button and occasionally reapplying quen or dodging.
- many skills got nerfed and more useless after the next gen update making the skill tree even less exciting
- there's such a huge potential with the bestiary, learning about the monsters weaknesses and using those against your enemies. Currently this thing is purely useless, again you can just spam anything with light attack for easy win. I literally play this game using only one hand.
- given the fact that after 2 witcher games the combat system has only gotten worse, this negative rating is fully justified - Witcher 3 has the least exciting and boring combat system.

Even after the next gen update, the combat still sucks ass. I would really love to see something that takes more than 2 brain cells to beat the enemies.

now after the combat system has received enough hate let's move onto the story...

- story is marvel/fairy tale tier, that means it's very primitive and characters are black'n'white aka the good guys and the bad guys. The story ends by the good guys beating the bad guys. There's nothing else to the whole story of The Witcher 3. The poorest and least interesting story of all the witcher games yet.

- wayyyyyy less sex scenes
- no sex cards in the journal character entries
- no uma sex scene
- no more arm wrestling
- no more dice poker
- very limited challenge in the gwent minigame
- gwent AI is sometimes insanely stupid
- the horse race minigame is more of a "body block your opponents when your horses stamina is low" than a race game.
- Geralt has way stronger feeling for moral values than he should have
- the whole game is too family friendly
- no equipment imported from The witcher 2 save
- if you want to get all the achievements in the game - they are just insanely time consuming and not really challenging besides that.
- no Iorveth appearance
- no Yarpen Zigrin appearance
- Vesemir ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ dies
- would expect next gen update to add a new DLC
- no czech voice over
- the existence of another random game launcher and the requirement of having it installed to play this game is an absurd tragedy. Fortunately, you are not forced to create another stupid throwaway account for this random launcher app.

technical inconveniences after the next gen update ON PROTON:
- loud audio cracking or audio skipping (very frequent in some areas like nothern velen)
- game sometimes randomly freezes and has to be hard reset.

Besides that the game runs very well.

Should you give it a try?
absolutely - though this game sucks for a witcher game it certainly is not a trash game and can offer hundreds of hours of fun.
