This is the perfect sequel to Lords of Shadow (2010). It continues the story beautifully with still top notch voice acting and plot. Mercury Steam managed to perfectly blend the new story and formula with the old castlevania feel. It is great to see castlevania make an effort to return to roots and succeeding. There is a plethora of enemies and locals in the castle..but don't you worry, there are also plenty of moves and combos to deal with them in style. In my opinion, the only drawback of this title is the sequence of the Acts. I believe that if Act 2 and 3 were reversed, it would have been a better paced and more wholesome experience all together. So, this game definitely deserves an 8/10. It's not better than Lords of Shadow (2010) but, when it comes to its story and sequel values, it is way better than Lords of Shadows 2.

I was avoiding playing this game for a long time, due to its negative recieving by the community. Luckily, I finally decided to play and complete it. I will start by saying that it is the weakest of the series gameplay and lorewise but not as bad as everyone states.
If it was a stand-alone story, self-contained, it would be a great game. The problem is that it tries to relate its story with the previous title, creating inconsistencies and plot holes. When it comes to the bits that don't reference the original dark souls plot, I find them fascinating and intriguing. They give me a Game of thrones vibe of kingdoms, war and treachery.
On the gameplay side, most mechanics work similarly to the first game while others were changed. One for the worst and one for the best. Firstly, the healing mechanic. An atrocious change! I can't fathom anyone thinking that this was an improvement whatsoever. Secondly, power stancing. Best thing conceived combat-wise, next to weapon arts/skills. This addition single handedly saves the gameplay error of the healing mechanic. As of the rest aspects, the bosses are a hit or miss situation. Some are a great experience and others a boring display. The OST is still great, loved it. And lastly the levels stay true to the dark souls interconnected nature, and keep the aesthetic of the franchise.
All in all, a fun game if you get in open minded with no expectations. Try not to think of the plot holes with the first game and the universal lore in general and you'll have a good time, I know I did.

Elden Ring is the wet dream of Miyazaki, From Software and all of the Soulslike playerbase. It combines all beloved aspects of the Soulsborne series with the vastness of games such as Breath of the Wild, to create a beautiful, intriguing and eldritch world which beckons to be unmasked. Every side-character has its own interesting story and questline, with some of them being intertwined. The world feels equally empty, befitting to its desolant aesthetic, as well as filled with wonder and mystery. Every corner has something new for you to descover which will likely provide clues for the bigger picture of the world and main plot. The gameplay and combat system remains the typical From Software one with a few additions such as the ability to jump verticary with the press of a button, Ashes of War which is an improvement to infusions in my opinion and the summoning of a mount to help traverse the enormous and diversely beautiful map. Crafting consumables has also been added to the game and it offers a pleasant alternative to farming actual items when hunting for ingedients is never an option as they are easily accessible while exploring. The Bosses of this game are hard, REALLY HARD. We may have here the hardest bosses in all of FROM SOFT's library. Their movesets are varied and most have 2 phases, the next harder than the last. This feeling of hardship persists to the end of the game, but for me it never got troublesome because for every ounce of difficulty, 10 ounces of wonder and awe were added as well. Every boss is a sight for sore eyes and offers a sincere sense of accomplishment after they have been felled. Now, everything is good and fun about the designing but we should address the elephant in the room, which is the optimization of the game. I personally did not experience any significant bugs or performance issues in my humble desktop PC with an RX 570 4GB. With a few tweeks on the high preset I managed to keep a relatively steady framerate count of 55-57fps with minimum freezes and lags. I know that some systems struggled, even high-end ones, but to me it was quite a smooth experience. Bare in mind that every dark souls game had framerate issues on launch and they were fixed along the way, so I have no doubt that these issues will be resolved in the near future.
All and all, do I think it is better than Dark Souls, Bloodborne or Demon's Souls (I don't compare it with sekiro cause that's a whole other experience both in combat and storytelling)? Well, I found it better than Demon's Souls but for me it did not surpass the feel of Dark Souls or Bloodborne, which remain the ultimate From Software games. This is my personal view due to the fact I did not find the themes of Elden Ring as captivating as I did Dark Souls' and Bloodborne's. Having said that it is a masterfully crafted game that deserves recognition and appraisal. From Software did it once again!

(as of 23/11/22, 10 months later and after Ragnarok, still Game of the year for me!)

God of War should, from now on, be the textbook on PC ports. It already was a masterpiece of a video game and now is open to an even wider audience.
2018's Game of the Year, if it released this year, would again claim the title. Santa Monica managed to take a well known universe and pantheon and, by enriching it with masterfully crafted characters, manages to build a captivating world of which you can't take your eyes and ears off.
While some boss fights may be repetitive with reskined bosses, the rest of the game makes this flaw trivial.
If you've not had the chance to experience God of War on PlayStation, you should definitely grap it now. You don't even have to wait for a sale, it is worth every penny.

Early Access Review
For an early access game, it is an extremely fun BR game. The classes are different enough from one another with their own unique character to make the game sufficiently diverse. The gameplay is basically the shooter aspect of Fortnite and it works here as well. The only problem I need to point out is the amount of cheaters and hackers at this point in the game, which is expected in early access. Once the machine learning process is done and the cheaters canbe auto identified, the game will get even more good.
All in all, of enjoy BR games, give this one a try certainly.

The recommendation of RE Village can be summarized in with one question. Did you like RE 4? If yes, you are gonna love Village and the opposite.

Village took the same formula from RE7 and expanded it in pretty much everything, characters, locations, weapons and story. Are all these changes welcome? Well, it depends on what kind of Resident Evil player you are. If you prefer the OG RE games to the new ones, like 4, then you are probably not gonna get the experience you want. Even if you liked 7, it is not guarranted you will love this one. Having said that, nothing in this game is poorly made and out of character. It is a great Resident Evil and in my opinion a fine installment to the series. The voice acting is top notch with the cheesy, b movieness you'd expect from a Resident Evil. The graphics are breathtaking with some painting-beautiful vistas. As for the gameplay, not something new to say, it is basically RE7.
All in all, would I recommend this? Yes I would despite what titles in the franchise. You never know, you may enjoy this one no matter what your preference.

Well, Darksiders 3 is a difficult one to review. Some parts of the game are really good and fun. The story is nothing special and too simple, unlike the previous two games, but enjoyable all the same. The gameplay is re-vamped, again, now it feels more like dark souls and less like darksiders. Dont get me wrong, I enjoyed and love the Dark Souls series but I felt like it didnt fit so well in this franchise. Its not game breaking, only alienating for old fans. Now something that really saddens me is that the graphics on this one feel cheaper and it's a bummer, considering the previous games came out years and years ago and look far greater in my opinion. All and all, you will have fun and I do recommend it for new and old fans alike, just dont expect too much. Certainly get it on sale!!!!!

OH MY GOD! Okay okay, let's keep this down to earth....What an absolute masterpiece of a video game. Literally Dark Souls 3 took everything that made the original the hit that it was and improved upon them. A fast paced, extra punishing combat system, stunning work on graphic design and soundtrack composition, and not to mention the huge epic expansion and explanation of the universe's lore. Bare in mind I'm talking about the complete Dark Souls 3 experience, including the DLCs. So all and all, in my opinion, we have the definitive Soulsborne King. To call this game a must-play is an understatement. If you haven't played it already, considering it came out in 2016, WHAT HAVR YOU BEEN DOING?
