"IM a KiLlInG FlOoR VeTeRaN WiTh ElevEnTy BiLliOn HouRs..."

...and this game is fun. If you go in expecting KF2, you're going to be disappointed. This game operates on a different wavelength, with a different skill tree, and I think more synergized perks. Calling it a generic FPS is a bit of a hyperbolic stretch, it's definitely KillingFloor through and through, with a focus on kiting and movement instead of stand-your-ground tanking.

"...B-But they don't even have the Demo! It's just seasonal nonsense!"

As a Demo main in KF2, your teammates would often get HIGHLY annoyed that they've engaged in battle and here comes the Demo with a one-two THUMP grenades and there goes 20 zeds in one go. It's not fun except on the maxed out levels and hardest difficulties. I'm glad it's gone, and that they've made way for new stuff. The Melee (Ninja? didn't bother to learn the name) class is extremely fun, ergonomically, and I'm having a blast.

Season/Battle passes make sense in this day and age; we've moved beyond the loot crate era and it's just what games do now. Nobody's making anyone buy anything beyond the base game, which at price point of $40 is below the contemporary industry standard and leaves your wallet buffered for those initial passes.

I think a lot of the haters don't understand what the devs are going for in this and are making an unfair comparison; over time this will get even more polished as issues and features are addressed. KF2 is a GOAT-level game, for sure, and it's a tough act to follow, but I feel like these reviews are being really disingenous and unfair to the product's vision. It's rough around the edges right now (yes, lmao 'text chat' on the roadmap), but so is every game that releases these days.

This game is, in a word, "underwhelming". As another reviewer put it, "mixed" would be the appropriate reaction.

On the surface, it's a good step up, technically, from Snowrunner. The mud feels more muddy, the water feels wet, everything visually is amazing. The physics feel a little more polished, and it's really fun building the first road or two. But it feels like they implemented a new engine/tweaks to the engine, and then hastily built a game around it. Fair enough, gotta keep the lights on.

But the missions don't really feel interesting enough. In Snowrunner, the challenge of any particular load run was navigating tough terrain, or trying to take a difficult yet more direct route through deep snow and woods, or trying to out-maneuver the load management so that you could teeter precious loads while bouncing 100 miles through the muddy taiga. This doesn't really have that, though; I don't fear getting stuck. I fear the crane controls. I fear the auto-winch targeting because it's always wrong. I fear picking up the 1000th concrete bit and shuttling it to recycling. By trying to simplify the controls, I feel like they made them more difficult by undoing hours of my muscle memory for what seems like no reason.

I don't feel compelled to dump a 350th load of sand. Or having the paver get caught on the tiniest road bumps again. Or fixing a slight wet spot in a road where an AI truck gets stuck for seemingly no reason. To what end? Snowrunner made me fight for an inch, and this game seemingly gives you a mile and it's all the less for it. That being said, I would welcome Snowrunner 2 with the some of the tech here. Let me pave Milan to Minsk after pulling out stumps and slogging a paving machine on a semi-truck through 10 feet of mud on a cold winter's evening.

But this ain't it.

Played this on release on PS3, then bought it again for PC. This was THE GAME for my friends and I for a long time, doing any and all kinds of random whatever. Stealing cars, racing, exploring the map, landing jets on the side of Mt. Chiliad. Then they forced you to into public online games full of cheats and it destroyed the game. And then they finally implemented anti-cheat that destroyed Linux compatibility, so I can't even play the thing.

10/10 solo campaign, one of the best of all-time games history; 0/10 online experience in 2025 due to cheating and the ensuing anti-cheat.

Game is unbalanced garbage. Looks and feels like Battlefield on the surface, but you're constantly gunned down by run'n'gun SMGs at ranges that are unrealistic vs. LMGs and Rifles. You can dump half a mag into someone and not kill them, only for them to spritz you with an UMP from halfway across the map and land the fatal shots.

Medics don't have rez paddles? Snipers can just A/D strafe at full speed while scoped? Ping the map 800 times trying to get a ping on a player to register. Support supressive fire doesn't mark players (if you're going to copy Battlefield, copy the good things?). Rockets are completely ineffective. Reload animations take way too long for such a fast-paced game.

Having played CounterStrike on and off for a few decades now, this game is a polished turd. It looks nice, but it's the same game you've been playing since 1999, with the community mentality to match. Outdated gameplay, players that haven't matured since they graduated high school in the aughts, and a papered over engine.

Bah, no.

HEY! YOU! Do you like Tycoon-style games?! Because this is sort of like that but not. Do you like model trains?! It's more like that. It's like putting together a huge model train set in a living room the size of a continent while kinda being a tycoon... -ish.

Once you've got it together and have more money than you can imagine coming out of your ears, you can hop on a commuter engine and take a look at what you've done from ground level with a great aesthetic.

You want this. You really do. Just get it. The developer would probably appreciate it.

Excellent game with great atmosphere and details. Easy to get lost in zooming around corpses and seeing the flashbacks. Not really any replay-ability once you're done, but that's kinda the point. Would have been good in VR had they gone that route.

With a controller, this game has some of the best platforming mechanics I've experienced in quite awhile. The game can be as fast-paced or as slow as you want it, but the platforming remains crisp throughout, which is what makes this game so solid. I see a lot of reviews saying the controls are trash, but I don't know what they're talking about. I will admit that I find Nina pretty boring; I think the real gem of the game is the melee-only Ace. Without crisp controls, this would be just another Megaman knockoff, but the marriage of changing levels, bumpin' music, and solid controls solidifies this as "well worth your time" on the money-to-gameplay ratio.

Started playing in the early EA period, and it was fun. Could get occasional wins, post high in the end-game. Now, I'm lucky to get out of the first 20 dead, since everything feels so random. Bullet spray seems random, desynch, houses with no loot. You're basically punished if you don't land in a highly-populated area. Guns that don't matter instead of hardcore bugfixing. This game is no longer fun, it's a chore to even play.
