The definiton of funky.

Super wacky 3D platformer with rapid action and tricks. The music is amazing and adds perfectly to the hyper/funky style. It honestly makes me want to dance the whole time while playing. Can be a fair challenge to master all the moves however, but practising for a bit does wonders.

The controls are seriously whack. The button layout does not feel intuitive at all, a bit awkard in fact. This takes some getting used to. This combined with the clunky feel of the player can sometimes be frustrating. I hope they change this in the new one.

I hope you can look past this, because the game is amazing.

Play it like a rogue-like and it's super fun!!

The amazing artstyle and audio design create a perfect ambience that result in a very immersive experience. Combine this with the genius game design and it's a very high risk high reward survival game that will keep you amused for hours at the time. Loved it <3.

Every level is unique, never boring always challenging. The randomness of Spelunky is perfect, the levels always challenge the player precisely enough that it never becomes too difficult or unfair. Whenever I was impaled by spikes or bitten by a spider I always felt like it was my fault. I almost always knew what I did wrong and tried to learn from it. This went hand in hand with screaming at my monitor and throwing my controller in rage. In spite of this, I never felt like rage-quitting, I always had the feeling that there was something more to discover for me, If only I had been just a little more careful or had I been just a teensy bit more focused. This motivated me to try again and again.

Spelunky forces you to make a ton of decisions in a relatively short time, most of my deaths where due to me not choosing fast enough or choosing poorly. The game only becomes easier because the player learns more mechanics and tricks. With this I mean less difficult, because Spelunky never stops kicking your ass.

Spelunky is an absolute Masterpiece.

A game that seems boring and dull, but is the complete opposite.

This game has an amazing story, I've only played to several endings so far. The story makes me want to complete all 20. A very dull job made interesting and fun to do, with a lot of twists and original game aspects. I did not expect at all that this would be that fun. Truly one of my favourite games. The ambience perfectly resembles a totalitarian government, and the game makes it feel like you know the works of the whole country by only showing its continental borders.

I absolutely love this game.

The story is good, the characters are well written and really cute. The gameplay is really fun and satisfying. The levels are challenging (in a good way). The graphics are aesthetically pleasing. It is not better than Mario Odyssey, but it definitely comes close. It is one of my favourite games of the playful 3D platformer genre.

As for downsides to this game. The optimisation is kind of ♥♥♥♥, some of the cutscenes and transitions are not that well edited and have weird angles. This makes the game feels awkard at times. But these flaws are okay and overshadowed by how lovely this game is.

go play, big fun

Honestly one of the best games I have ever played. A fun first-person shooter, that everyone who owns a computer should try. Awesome characters with fun personalities, and somewhat psychotic. Very dynamic and fun gameplay, that I have never seen anywhere else in a video game.

This is the game that i got steam for.

It is a real ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ shame that Valve neglects this game as if it's their forgotten child. I am sad every single day because of this. Still, a wonderful game, that even though it is 100 percent free took a lot of my money. If i could have sex with a video game, it would definitely be Team Fortress 2.
