The best Final Fantasy. The only one I've replayed 5+ times, despite it also being one of the *longest*- especially if you take side content into account. Big shout-out to the Struggle for Freedom mod, too, it makes the wonderful combat of the game even better in expanding the use of and need for many combat options.

The story's pretty all right too, I guess, but this one's definitely best for lovers of the gameplay.

Do I really even need to leave a review? It's a good game. You should probably play it.

(Trigger Warning: Sexual Assault)
SPOILERS AHEAD - If you don't want spoilers/don't want to read about SA-related topics, I will just say that if you have any SA-related trauma, DO NOT PLAY THIS GAME.

I don't really have much to say about the game- I haven't finished it, and I honestly don't know if I will at this point- but what I played wasn't too bad, though if you're looking for an indie RPG with good gameplay that lacks grinding I'd recommend something like Ara Fell or Rise of the Third Power over this even for those elements- but it was decent, at the very least.

The reason I'm not sure whether I'll even finish the game is because of an event that I believe happens at about the halfway point of the game. Everything was going pretty smoothly story-wise thus far, it was a little bit dark at points but not anything particularly hard to swallow- a bit of a darker tone to your typical JRPG or fantasy-story fare. But at that point, the main character has a discussion with a close friend that eventually comes to a rather indulgently shocking head.

Disclaimer- I don't have any sort of SA-related trauma, and I wouldn't generally say that I'm even *that* squeamish about the topic. But when the main character's friend began to describe how his sister was violently assaulted by a group of men and harping on how alone and powerless she was, I began to feel pretty damn uncomfortable and put off from the game as a whole. I'm not even saying that this topic/event should have necessarily been cut from the game, but it was handled with absolutely no subtlety, and frankly, I don't *think* the game even has a trigger warning or anything that would indicate that it would delve into these sorts of topics. Feel free to correct me if I'm wrong, of course.

I'm not even sure that I would rate this game negatively overall, but this specific part of the story just killed my enthusiasm and enjoyment of it, and I felt that I needed to leave this review in case it might dissuade anyone who might feel similar to me.

the grind is kind of tedious but the gameplay and build customization keeps me coming back. the core gameplay is fun. that is the best thing about this game- also the graphics are extremely stylish

Feels insanely good to play, honestly. The very first time I played it with a friend we did four runs in a row and didn't even get bored after the fourth, we just stopped because we didn't want to burn out on the game.

Genuinely one of the best JRPG experiences you will ever have, if you like a challenge and exploration/final fantasy-esque combat is your kind of deal. I spent 10 hours breeding a golden dinosaur that could fly, swim, dive underwater, and run fast, and I still got oneshot by a big tentacle freak in the ocean.

I've had a ton of fun playing this game with my girlfriend! Its challenge, unique mechanics and designs, and especially the way that SVs and TVs are displayed have made it a blast to optimize and train, and taking on our first Dojo leader was exhilarating and genuinely felt like the most exciting battle I've ever had in a Pokemon-like game. Speaking of Pokemon- this game is obviously a love letter to Pokemon in many ways, and while it tries to differentiate itself and succeeds for the most part, it also isn't shy to show the influence, and doesn't pretend that it wasn't influenced by Pokemon. Despite the somewhat rough launch, they've managed to accommodate a pretty ridiculous amount of people for early access.

c: Really fun RPG with a smattering of classes and mechanics to familiarize yourself with and master, and most importantly, a gorgeous set of environments and themes to explore, and a trope-y but enjoyable story that's just about being fun for the player at its core.

Yay! A very nice game!
I am a huge SSBB addict, so...
Anyways, it's a very fun, but simple, smash-em-up 2d multiplayer hurtfest. The characters are well-balanced and the items don't make the game impossible.
I love the weapon system, I think it's fun to not start out with any weapons, then get a randomized one!
I'm looking forward to more innovations and fixes to make this game the best it can be moving forward!
My rating: 9/10 (I left 1 off because it can get a little boring, doing the same thing over and over, and it's a little simplistic.)
