Excellent story and fantastic atmosphere and vibes. There is some of the typical boss battle ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ so common to video games, but the environments and a story that is ok leaving things uncertain and open to interpretation makes for a fantastic experience.

There are some heavy themes (SA, lots of violence against family members, etc) that might not work for everyone, though.

Anyone who wants a creepy, surreal, and unsettling world and story is in for a treat, though. It’s obvious why this was such an instant, influential classic when it was first released so long ago.

Pretty chill and charming, though the boss battles get a bit silly. Really fun core loop of diving to catch fish and then selling them in the sushi restaurant each night. Lots of space to upgrade things and get a nice little engine going.

Fantasic writing and a ton of customization and crazy skill combinations on top of a solid shooter base. Highly recommended. It's helped several of my friends learn to enjoy shooters, even. The world & humor keep them engaged while they learn.

Gorgeous, endearing, and richly imagined, but shackled by archaic annoying gameplay that just serves as a gate to more of what is actually engaging: the characters.

Point-and-click fans, rejoice. Everyone else might want to load up some walkthroughs, or even just watch someone else's playthrough.

Pretty much the perfect local multiplayer game. Focused, and always insane fun. Even when you lose, it's thrilling and exhilerating. Absolutely perfect for an evening with friends & games.

Incredibly engaging and brutal turn-based combat. The ever-present threat of potentially permanently losing a soldier adds a surprising amoutn of suspense. Absolutely worth it.
