Wow, so I had never played a ninja gaiden game before this one, though I am experienced with character action games, such as DMC, Metal Gear Rising Revengeance, Bayonetta 1 & 2, and HiFi Rush. This is a DAMN good game. I was shocked at how many combos each weapon STARTS with. There are so many dope combos, and this game will have you feeling like an utter badass. I loved how the "finishers" were seemless and didn't involve some giant button prompt or a cutaway that takes you out of the fight. They almost just feel like a natural part of a combo. I was so shocked at the weapon variety as well. Another thing that's really special about this game is it's actually challenging. A lot of character action games are actually pretty easy and the challenge comes from trying to get good grades and scores/ look cool. Well Ninja Gaiden definitely has those flashy combos and a hit counter, you can also die soooo easily. I've only played on Hard so far which is very doable for beginners like me, but I can tell that Mentor (Very Hard) and the hardest difficulty are absolutely insane. I feel like the game shines the most when you're fighting wave upon wave of enemies, rather than in boss fights. I really hope they give the other ninja gaidens the remake treatment!! And I'm sure that for all the OG ninja gaiden 2 fans, there will be a mod eventually that makes the enemy count just like the original, if the devs don't add something like that themselves. This is an amazing amazing amazing amazing DLC to an amazing game. Really it should be called an expansion pack. Easily 45+ hours of content. Tons of amazing locations and extremely cool boss designs. This DLC is very challenging and it's also very rewarding. The challenge is not unfair regardless of what all the people leaving negative reviews in fits of rage may say. These bosses absolutely can be mastered. The worst thing this DLC could have been was too easy. And if you really don't want an extremely challenging experience, all of the tools from the base game are still there and even built off of. There are plenty of new spirit ashes, npc summons, crafted throwables, and powerful magic spells to use if you'd like. The story, lore, and npcs of this DLC are very intriguing and mysterious as well. I truly feel grateful to be alive and able to play video games at a time where we have such beautiful works of art such as this. THIS DLC RULES

Really enjoyed this game! I think the coolest part is the techniques you learn to cheat in card games all appear to be real and useable! They definitely require adept slight of hand but you really feel like you are learning a very interesting and under-the-table skill while you play through this game. I highly recommend using a controller. It feels very right and tactile moving your thumbs on the analog stick to do slight of hand tricks. Game took me about 6 hours to beat, but there are alternate endings and a new game plus. I'm sure I'll feel the desire to play such a satisfying game again in the future.

I absolutely love this game. It is extremely challenging but also extremely well designed and has a lot of heart and ambiance. The music is great, each new screen you jump to is an award in itself, and absolutely nothing in your life will rival the feeling of reaching the top. Once you make it, because yes you will if you are determined, you're gonna want to feel the feeling all over again. Luckily there's two more official DLC maps!!! Which mean two new smoking hot babes!!! And after that there are a bunch of high quality custom maps made by players who love the game!! It's time to JUMP.

THE roguelike. The absolute blueprint. This ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ game rules. The only downside is you will be disappointed in the amount of content in every other roguelike because literally no other game can compare. I'm just now getting into it again and am amazed at how much content I still have to unlock when I've already gotten all 15 original endings (there's plenty more now). It is absolutely worth the money.

A truly remarkable piece of art. I recommend to go into it blind. I especially recommend it to people who enjoy Lynchian story telling and thought provoking media.

I love this game so much. It's honestly so fun. Re-engaging with it after around 2 years with some friends has been a blast.
