Early Access Review
The first game started in a barely playable state and was later polished into what it was meant to be. This one, also, began in a poor technical state, but its mechanics, story, and gameplay are already at a high level. There’s a clear vision behind this game, and it has a solid foundation. If you enjoy witnessing and being part of a game's development, this might be for you.

I backed the first Chernobylite on Kickstarter, and during my initial playthroughs, I had very low expectations—the game was barely playable, running at just 30 FPS. However, with each update, it improved significantly: the performance became smoother, and new weapons, missions, and locations were introduced. I trust the developers to sort things out. Judging by the current state, Early Access seems to be a deliberate and well-thought-out part of development, just like it was with the first Chernobylite. I hope I’m not wrong—fingers crossed, as this looks like an innovative and interesting idea for a game.

What is Dark Moon?

Dark Moon is a base or convoy management game where you upgrade and maintain your Spider as it traverses the lunar plains with the goal of escaping the moon.

The demo serves as an extensive tutorial that you can't really skip. It introduces you to the game's mechanics, which seem to be quite comprehensive. The game features good music, although the interface can be somewhat clunky. I highly recommend following the game's development. I've been waiting years for this, and from what I can see, they are developing exactly what I hoped for based on the first trailer.

Similar games:

Xion (for its atmosphere)
Frostpunk (for its narrative)
Homeworld (for its mechanics)

If you prioritize mechanics and gameplay over graphics (due to poor performance), buy it right away; highly recommended.

I play on a laptop with an RTX 3060, 10th-gen i7, and 16GB of RAM. When I changed the options to a resolution of 1600x900 and set the graphics to medium/low, the game runs smoothly at 30-50 FPS. With those settings, the game looks exactly the same as the original CS on MAX settings. With maximum settings, the game looks stunning but doesn't run well.

The game is a great successor that improves upon the original game in every possible way. If you're looking for the content that was advertised, you won't be disappointed.

Very good game, kinda clunky at start. It is more of a castle builder than anything else. Looking at adorable cratures walk and build is very satysfying. Sadly as for structures it lacks content but the foundation is very solid.
