Early Access Review
The Good
This game has character. It's everywhere, from the mission hub to the voice lines. Everything has this feeling of care put into that makes it the most charming games I've played. My friends and I still quote the game constantly, and one of our Discord server's favorite emotes is of the M.U.L.E.'s walk cycle. The gameplay captures what was fun about Left 4 Dead and Payday and layers on a rewarding weapon upgrading system, creating a loop of where you play a mission and then purchase the next upgrade for your gun/equipment. It's paced super well and doesn't feel grindy at all. The new overclocking system is neat, and I can't wait for the developers to get weird with them.

The Bad
Like all of these games of this type, sometimes you are going to have moments where you get screwed by RNG, but usually the chaos that creates is pretty fun. The only time I felt the grind setting in was when I had to promote characters. Getting all the weapons to unlock was well paced but the leveling up seemed to slow down drastically after getting the second weapon for that class.

Early Access
GSG has done a great job with handling the quirks of an EA game. They churn updates out at a slower rate than others but their updates are usually pretty large and fairly polished. Hotfixes are fast, and the developers are very communicative with the community.

TLDR
4/5, Great fun and very charming, but can get a little grindy as you approach the endgame.
