This game is worth playing solely for the soundtrack and story. I also really enjoyed the exploration and gameplay, which to me, was very reminiscent of Ori. It definitely starts off slow but the progression is super fun and feels rewarding.

Also I did play this after Ender Magnolia (which I have the same amount of praise for), and I probably would have enjoyed both games a lot more if I played this game first, but it's not a super big deal.

This is without a doubt one of the best games I've ever played. Went above and beyond my expectations in almost every way possible. The graphics are absolutely gorgeous and stunning, I loved watching all of the cutscenes and it was like watching a movie with how breathtaking the visuals were and how some moments pulled on my heartstrings. The soundtrack is equally as amazing and compliments the scenery in the game so well (I knew I was going to fall in love with the music in this game after I finished the prologue). The gameplay is addicting, engaging, and most importantly - very satisfying. It felt like a glorified, souls-like version of Persona combat.

The best part of the game though is without a doubt the story itself. All the major characters in this game are so well written and feel very real, I loved being able to bond with and learn more about them. Props to all the voice actors for portraying these characters so well. The narrative was also really compelling with how well it touched on themes like love, loss, grief and the difficult choices that come with these things. I was hooked on the story from start to finish and I felt like I spent ages circling around in the open world and exploring all the different zones in the game because I didn't want it to be over.

If you think you're losing interest in gaming, you should definitely play this game. You can feel how much passion and love was put into making it. This isn't just game of the year, it's game of the decade.

Just like literally every other character in this game, I too am head over heels in love with Leon. That man is so damn hot. Step aside, Ashley, it should be ME on that jet ski with him.

Nah, man. I was expecting a cozy and cute little visual novel but this was neither of those. What's the point of incorporating player choice if the ONLY way to get the good ending, or even the neutral ending is to do literally everything "right"? And that's in quotations because this game seems to lack an understanding of the importance of both communication and consent as a two-way street. The dialogue was overall very cringe and I even found it stereotypical as well. To me it seemed like the game was trying to villainize the girl and make her out to be some sort of narcissist who will dump you if you can't read her mind 24/7 and have every choice you make done specifically with the intent of pleasing her. Come on now.
It's all very one dimensional and shallow, and is just a terrible way of portraying what relationships and the concept of love are. This is just not how it works in the real world.

I had to look up a guide to get the good ending (since most of the correct choices for it are not actually in the dialogue choices, but are instead in clicking or interacting with the most random things on the screen) in order to be able to play the other two available stories, and it was not worth it given that they were not any better than the main one.

Wow, I did not expect to like this as much as I did. The world-building in this game is absolutely incredible. The animations and graphics are great too, and the music is for sure the cherry on top. I actually really liked the combat as well, it was engaging and I personally never got sick of it. And okay, sure, the two protagonists are rather bland and forgettable, but who cares? We all know Garl is the main character anyways.

Chrono Trigger was one of my favorite games when I was younger. I won't compare the two since they are obviously very different games, but I had to mention it because of the way Sea of Stars made me feel like a little kid again. You can definitely feel the inspiration in this one. It's such a wonderful thing to still be able to come across games that are able to pull off that kinda magic like this one does :')

Really good. I probably should have got into this series by playing this game first over RE1 (which was also good, don't get me wrong. But it felt pretty frustrating a lot of the time due to the camera angles and controls -- I recommend anyone else who is getting into RE to start here because it's more modernized, just go back to the first game later on!) This is the first time I've actually enjoyed survival horror, so safe to say it changed my opinion on the genre.

Although I have to say, I am still not a fan of that anxiety-inducing freak in a trench coat. I can still hear the intensifying music and footsteps very clearly... Is it too late to apologize for shooting his hat off??
