This is a great game. Probably one of the best Solitaire games out there.

I don't remember purchasing this game, and probably got it in a bundle with games that at the time were more lucrative, but this game has surprised me with it's quality.

It's gameplay is a series of up-down solitaire layouts that progressively get more complicated and difficult, with multiple hands making up a chapter. Each chapter will have specific goals such as getting so many points, clearing a specific part of the board on hand #3, or a set number of perfect hands that must be met in order to successfully complete the chapter. Between chapters you are given the opportunity to upgrade Bella's ball reception, which in turn gives you upgrade abilities to use in future hands such as extra undos. Pretty standard Solitaire and gameplay is reminiscent of many other Solitaire games on Steam, but the presentation sets Regency above its peers. The abilities and wild cards are better displayed and more clear to read. The Victorian Romance story that wraps the game is better presented and written, and feels like an authentic brief Jane Austin story.

I started this game as a time waster to fill small breaks, between taking care of the kids, or while waiting for my wife to get ready to leave, when I get ready for work and have a few minutes before it's time to leave, or other such small breaks of time. I quickly found myself spending my day activities in anticiapation of when I could get done with work, my errands, etc. and get back home to play this game for longer blocks of time while the kids and wife were sleeping. I even found myself up at 2 in the morning on a work night, scrambling to finish that "Just one more hand" and wanting to make sure Bella got to have her happy ending with Lord Worthington, and that her despicable neighbor would get his come-uppance.

My only complaint is that it doesn't support widescreen aspect ratios well, but that is such a minor gripe here, especiallly when you're not playing a 3d game or having it negatively affect your field of view.
