I think I'm just at 3000+ hours and I've gotta say I haven't played a game thats more fun than Team Fortress 2. Especially for the price!

Pros:
1) free

2) bunches of different maps and game types including Capture the flag, king of the hill, arena (kind of like death match), payload (push a cart down tracks), and mann vs machine.

3) literally hundreds of in-game items items that you can find to customize the look and overall play style of your favorite class.

4) large community of map/weapon/cosmetic makers.

5) hundreds of community servers to choose from, not to mention Valves rehashed casual mode which gets better which each update.

Cons:
1) some what of steep learning curve if you've been playing other FPS games like COD, FARCRY, or battlefield, whatever.

2) practice mode/in-game tutorials are much to be desired. Not much input there it just seemed like an after thought of valves part lol. But not a deal breaker.. they could go more in depth to REALLY give new players a bigger and more in depth picture of the games more subtle mechanics before actually being thrown into a game with players who literally have thousands of hours of experience. Knowing small things at the start like pyros can extinguish teammates by airblasting. Or that you cannot airblast or knock back a quick fix uber.

3) game has been out for nearly 10 years so there are tons of experience players. This isn't really a bad thing, but getting grouped in with a bunch of other newer players against others with thousands of hours of experience can lead to an environment that's toxic and well.. not as fun as the game usually is.

3) VAC software is still much to be desired. Despite updates to stop so called hackers, they still get through and try to ruin the game for any players currently in their match. SURPRISINGLY players have been really good sports about kicking suspected hackers when I ask nicely.Other than that the best thing you can do is report the player and leave. That or suffer through the match with the hacker. Keep in mind that this doesn't happen too often. Maybe once in every 25-30 casual games I in my experience. **UPDATE** they recently went through and banned about 4000 players or so. Most were on csgo but good to know vac is at least doing SOMETHING.

Despite the few negatives, I would give this game an 9/10. Highly recommended to anybody looking for a class based fps game to play with some friends. Don't take this game seriously just have fun!

[6/2/2020] Still no Heavy Update yet.. with the release of Half Life Alyx, maybe theres a chance that some of the valve employees will come back to the game and give us all one last hurrah.
