The worst game of the year...... or is it?

Well alot of people are calling no mans sky a complete failure and for SOME types of people the game will appear as just such a thing, a failure. But remember this is an INDIE game this isn't some triple A mainstream release like a new COD and while it may have received the same level of publicity because of it's new and innovative game type we have to remember this was made by 15 people not 150 like a regular triple A game. I'll stop dancing around the subject, how is it? Well to me someone who grew up on star trek and star wars a game that let me be my own Captain of my own Starship enterprise was a well received concept and if you are simply looking for a game that truly lets you explore new planets with creatures ranging from hopping pinapple type creatures to large T-rex inspired beings this game is for you. No mans sky while lacking certain aspects of space alot of people (mainly those who wanted a photo and physics realistic game) wanted such as planetary rings, black and worm holes, real stars and more advanced species. Still manages to deliver a fresh new experience unlike anything before it (unless you count those photo and physics realistic games like say universe sandbox). And for that I have to give it a good count. BUT if you are not someone who jumps for joy at the idea of simply landing on a planet harvesting it's resources exploring it and then repeating that then the game is not for you, try something else.

But all this still has to stack up to a recomendation for or against the game. And it's not a simple one. It's as much as follows. IF you can be content simply wandering the universe and exploring new planets that may only SLIGHTLY differ from others you've exlored while waiting for that all new experience that comes once every ten or so planets then yes I can recommend the game to you 100%. BUT if you come to no mans sky wanting a constantly new experience with every planet and nothing to be even close to the same well then A. what were you expecting it's random generation and only so many parts could be inputted and B. then you will be bored. So if you are the type of person that grew up watching kirk then sure the games for you, but for someone who wants fast paced action or space battles wait for the new battlefront (because lord knows the third one was worse than gouging out your eye with a rusty spoon). I hope this helps and I'll see you at the galactic core!
