I've attempted a few characters so far, and never really got too far; I was trying too hard to find a set purpose.

On my 6th or so character, I decided to just go with the flow, survive, and see what happens.

It started out with my new human character "Dookie Fart Man"; I started off by trying to find some copper to mine. As I was mining my first round, I was attacked by some random raider trying to get some food. He could have just asked, I would have parted with some dried meat for some help with the copper, but I digress. We fought it out, I couldn't get away effectively, so he ended up knocking me out and taking the... nothing... that I had.

Fast forward a few minutes (real time) and I'm waiting for my character to gain consciousness.

I see a Holy Nation slaver and his gang of goons locking me up, and slinging me over their shoulder.

Fast forward about 20 minutes of waiting to reach their camp, and boy was I ♥♥♥♥♥♥. I instantly tried to get away, not realizing that I had shackles, and failed. I got locked up, learned about lockpicking, and let's just say that my character is now VERY successful with lockpicking. So a few escape attempts later, I start getting more ideas of how to effectively pull it off. I waited until they tied me up to a pole, and waited for nightfall. I quickly escaped, freed 5 people (only 2 of which agreed to help), and ran for the exit. Both perished and I got away. However, I had traveled down the wrong path. I ended up somewhere with horrible bugs that crippled me, forcing me to CRAWL BACK to the slavers in order to get medical treatment and some food.

So, the (most previous as of writing this) attempt, I did more or less the same thing, except went out the CORRECT exit this time, PLUS one of the escapees joined up with me afterward as we were able to sneak by a bunch of the guards. Unfortunately, however, we were ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ starving. I knew the city closest to us was Holy Nation, but I thought that if we were quick enough, we could grab some food and book it. I was wrong. We are currently, as I'm writing this, slaving away some more. But now there are 2. Tengu and Dookie Fart Man are going to rescue even MORE slaves, and make a bigger, better escape.

I ended up pulling it off, and found a shack to the north of the slave camp. It was a spot left behind by ninjas for escapees to gear up! I was so excited that my hard work had paid off. I'm now building myself a house in squin. Fantastic game to get lost in.

I ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ hate this game

Joined a game and started getting rammed by infinite trucks nonstop, then got booted to single player by a modder.

Currently about 4 hours into the game, and I can't praise it enough. It does what DOOM does best, fast paced ripping and tearing through demons. You HAVE to keep moving in this game and you end up honing your quick reaction skills pretty quickly.

When you die, it draws you back; You want to keep trying and improve your run. Play it on one of the harder difficulties, it's definitely worth it.

If running on PC, make sure to check out guides to improve performance for what you're working with. Game runs fine for me on ultra using shadow boost, and I'm loving it! Story is extremely gripping, the gameplay just keeps getting better as I learn to use the environment to my advantage and upgrade cyber enhancements.
