This is a fantastic game for those who like turn-based-ish roguelite, tactics against other players, and Auto Battlers alike. I like to play it while relaxing in the bath or when I'm catching up on news.
I personally do not understand any of the bad reviews.

There are a few characters I like more than the others because of my playstyle but all characters have fairly balanced strengths and weaknesses if you understand how to properly build and counter build. I had a ton of fun and I'm excited for Alpha League to come back in December.

The UI is just a little bit clunky, something you will most likely forget if you enjoy the gameplay. I've heard some assets in game may be reused, far too close to another design from another company, or stolen. Neither of these things bother me as I'm in it for the gameplay and strategy within, hopefully they can clean some things up in the December release if assets truly were stolen.

DO NOT BUY THIS. THIS IS A WASTE OF MONEY AND TIME. TRUST THE MOSTLY NEGATIVE RATING.

This game is hot garbage. Every negative review I read painted the picture perfectly. I should have listened.
The level of jank and amount of bugs I experienced in the first 40 minutes of my time with Empyrion was legitimately worse than any gaming experience I have ever had.
The game's menu breaks and requires a restart upon entering the multiplayer menu.
Multiplayer servers lag so hard when a new player joins, current players have to reconnect.
I killed 6 animals, they all stood there while I slowly fired 7-10 shots into them each.
I tried to mine a rock and it returned it's file name to me.
No. No. NO. NO. NO. NO!!!! NO!!!!!! NO!!!!!

This game is legitimately fun. Most of the negative reviews are from people who played the game before it's recent revamp (revert) or people who have been scorned by backing this game in early access because the the game's previous poor state, etc. If you can get a friend to play, you can enjoy the entire game. I'm playing solo for now and it seems fine but dungeons will be more difficult this way.

There is no cash shop now. There is no subscription now. There are no purchases to be seen. This is a great game for fan of pre-2010 rpgs.

Exploration. Cooperation. Industry. Role Play. This is what I expected from Pax Dei and this is what I got. You should buy game if you like the sound of that. Don't expect anything to be given to you for simple participation from the game or for your hand to be held. Assuming the Pax Dei development team continues their work, this game has a strong place in the current market.

Don't listen to the wave of initial bad reviews, most seem to not have played much at all or they don't understand how to get the game to run on their current hardware, the lag related reviews do have a point but fail to mention that lag on LAUNCH DAY for any game is to be expected when a ton of people attempt to log in all at once all day long.

Yes the game is not optimized very well, yes some features of the game are not functioning properly right now, yes there is lag. The current issues did not affect me or the many others I met and played with in a way that convinced us to worry or stop playing. This is a game being released in Early Access, the issues are quite minor when compared to any other Early Access launch I have seen, but they exist. Come play the game and have fun instead of nit picking your own way out of a positive experience.

So it's an attempt at WoW like PvP. I understand the idea of the game and it would be great if the controls weren't abysmal. You can't rearrange the action bars and the game's interactions are clunky overall. I need a game with the same concept but with MUCH better execution. Maybe Mash, the developer can improve but I've seen WoW PvP likes come and go on steam, this one feels pretty bad compared to some of the others.

I'm not changing my review back to thumbs up until my democratic brothers and sisters in the Philippines can once again, fight for Super Earth.

This was made by obsidian? Most survival games on steam are better than this one, it's clear to me that obsidian put their F ranking team to put this one together. There is almost no content here with unreasonable barriers between objectives in terms of time needed to progress. Just another cash grab survival game.

This is a 1.0 game??? This game has some of the worst paced progression I've ever seen. Through normal play, you will not ever have to make or use about 80% of the tools, weapons, and armor available and still beat the game without noticing any difference. You can and probably should only use about 20% of your available tools, weapons, and armor and tame 20% of the available animals so what is that rest of that garbage for?
Since there is only 20% of a game here I'd say you should only buy the game if it's 80% off the normal price.

There is no way to change regions once you have chosen one in the official servers. This game is a scam.
