The upgrade is free so I cant complain about that, even if it is lackluster.

Pros:

-Fun Gameplay

-Graphics are simple but look beautiful

-Crossplay

-No Microtransactions

-Runs really well, physics aren't buggy

Cons:

I think they rushed the release and didn't have time to implement all of feedback from the final beta, but that doesn't make it a bad game. It has a lot of potential, I experienced it firsthand during the first beta. That was SO fun. I hope the devs make the right decision and listen to the community more now that the game is out.

EDIT:

It has been over a month since release, and the devs have done nothing to fix the game or give any incentive to keep playing this game. They keep doing timed events and double xp weekends to entice players to play again, but this week I saw the concurrent players dip into the double digits. Only competitive players play this game now, and there is no competitive gamemode. Meaning if you're a casual player that only has so much time to game in a week, you'll be screwed over in matchmaking when you go up against the same 50 players that organize teams on discord etc. All random matchmaking lumps you with other noobs. There is no balance and after seeing how much constructive criticism was given on the discord, the devs just seem to not care or wanna listen. Adding 6v6 wont even save the game because of how many people stopped playing. 6v6 is just going to ruin matchmaking even further now.

So no I will not recommend this game until they stop acting like ubisoft and activision's lovechild. I cant even think of a way to revive this game anymore.

Excellent Story with gameplay that builds beautifully off of the first game. An extremely satisfying sequel.

Now for the reason I gave it a negative review:
--------------------------------------------------
The game came out over a year ago and is still a stuttery mess on PC. I've played through this game 3 times now, twice on 2 different PCs, and once on PS5. The PS5 playthrough was my only enjoyable experience. The devs don't seem to care about creating a better experience for PC players. I was at least expecting there to be some patches that fixed the insane frame drops and stuttering, but it seems like they've completely given up. I play in 4K 60fps, and even lowering my resolution to 1080p gave me the EXACT same performance. Never seen that before. All the reviews that say they have no issues with performance are being naive. If it doesn't bother you then that's perfect, Im jealous, Ignorance is bliss. but sadly as a PC enthusiast, this is something I cannot ignore, especially when comparing it to its competition.

Also this game is 130GB on my SSD. For a game with barely any variety of planets to visit, this should not be more than double the size of Jedi Fallen Order. The developers for this game left it a truly un-optimized mess. They trimmed absolutely none of the fat.

PS. To be fair to the game, I left it a 5 star review on PS5 since I really did enjoy the story and gameplay on that more optimized platform. Just cant give it an actual recommendation on steam if the game can barely run on any system that didn't cost over 2 grand.

Modern Warfare 2019 was the last good Call of Duty and they somehow managed to mess that game up by involving it in Call of Duty HQ... That game ran beautifully on Ultra at 144fps, didnt stutter or take 20 minutes to load up and on top of it the graphics looked better than what we have now.

I have no incentive to play Call of Duty now that i have to go through 3 different game launchers just to play Modern Warfare 2 Multiplayer. On top of it you launch Cod HQ - "restart required". Okay fine ill restart. Now i go through CoD HQ to select Mw2 multiplayer. Game exits and opens another launcher for Mw2. "Restart Required" FFS how many times do i need to restart?? Upon restarting for the second time I also need to spend 10 minutes optimizing shaders. This is absolutely ridiculous. This game is on an SSD and still takes 20 minutes to boot up every time because the amount of hoops you need to jump through. On top of this all, you load into a game and its one of the most optimized games I've ever played. Cyberpunk ran better on launch. The menu UI is just an absolute mess full of ads for an $89.99 game, wtf were they thinking???

I love Call of Duty, its my favorite shooter but i'm not buying another Call of Duty until whatever company "has its way" with the franchise next, fixes all this.

If you grew up watching Harry Potter and love Open-World Adventure RPGs; you can't find a better game.
I've been waiting since 2018 for this game and I'm very pleased to say that it lives up to the hype.
