Building can also be a major part of the fun if that's your kind of thing, but it's possible to just not build stuff (other than crafting stations of course, you kinda need those) and get by just fine.

As seen from my hour count, the game has lots and lots of replay potential, going even further with the help of mods. The modding scene for this game is huge. Mods can freshen up the game really well and are just great things to have in the game. The modding client is known as TModLoader, and is available on steam directly.
