This game is delicious, though with some mild-to-moderate annoyances, though not *quite* enough to bring down it being one of my favorites this year. Let's line up the good--the art style is fantastic, the music is wonderful, the animations are satisfying, and the story is 90% compelling, with some ehhh tropey events (by no means a bad thing by itself) and some... I guess this varies person to person, but some of the endings are lukewarm when it comes to satisfaction. This review will refrain from particular details and spoilers.

So, beginning with the gameplay, it's not so bad. Getting money is predicated by doing well in cute little mini-games, which are all good (I hate the egg one though, for goodness' sake) and besides that, gameplay consists of running around and talking to people, followed by puzzle-based dungeons. The environments of the dungeons are beautiful, but the puzzles are, to me, pretty hit or miss. To note--I am not big on puzzles, and even then I only needed to consult a guide for one early game puzzle, so It's by no means a "hard" game so much as some of the puzzles are "annoying."

The biggest offender is the water zone, which despite easily being my favorite dungeon... it's puzzles are BS I don't like them the worst. Alright? Alright. Honestly, don't be afraid to take a look at a guide, because the puzzles are in the end a sidejob to the game's spectacular art and animation, alongside it's story.

So the story--it's pretty good, though to an extent it suffers from the dating-sim issue of "hey so there are multiple romance choices... but there's also the one you are *supposed* to pick." As in, sure, you can choose any of the three romance interests (or be a good maid and work all day everyday) but there is still a partner who gives you the most insight and lore into the universe, at least by my reckoning, which can be mildly disappointing.

I played the English dub, and it's good, so I also suspect the Japanese dub is just as good, so pick whatever it'll be fine. I guess for a tl:dr:

Don't be afraid to look at a guide, talk to literally everyone, save before every romantic date. The people with exclamation points are important, and the people will the letter give you loot (do make sure to pay attention to the dialogue, though.) I will fight anyone who doesn't think Freya is the best. Thanks.
