I am having more fun with this game than I expected. It is a simple tower defense game, but the fun is in the trap placement and planning your defense. Graphics are great, voices of the orcs and the things they say are funny and add a lot of humor to the game.

There are nice challenges too, in that the types of enemies all require different types of traps. so you can't cookie cutter each map as well as you think. Plan and try something out, then plan and try again. Each time you learn how much further you can get.

Endless mode really challenges your ability to keep up with wave after wave of orcs that are changing and getting more difficult each wave.

This game was incredibly entertaining to play. The game has great graphics and a light and fun set of musical themes. I especially liked the music, it wasn't overly intense, and it provided positive encouragement while playing the game. Very reminiscent of games like Mario Cart my kids used to play on their Nintendos. The graphics used bright colours, which I like, and the rotating planets were a nice added touch.

Great game overall. I was surprised by how fast I completed it.

Since this game launched, it has been buggy and frustrating to play due to crashes.

Positives
  1. The game combat is an absolute thrill. I love the AI for the enemies. They are constantly acting like they are making plans and coordinating their attacks.
  2. You feel like you are a god at the beginning. Slaughtering the enemies and still finding fun ways to die by overwhelming yourself is something I love.
  3. The story is exciting and propels you along. I love the character's voice acting, and the animations are great.
Negatives
  1. You lose that feeling of being a god or super-human as the game progresses. The enemies will outpace you as you try to get to higher difficulty levels, and soon, you will feel like a punching bag. Your new gear and abilities should be making it so that you need to increase the difficulty to increase the challenge for yourself. However, at the highest challenge tier, single enemies can kill you with one shot with the best gear and mods you could acquire.
  2. The story ends. There are no end game story quests to make you feel that the game is still alive and vibrant. Once you have played through the story, entertainment stops and now all you have left is a loot grind.
  3. The game crashes all the time and has continued to do so, including the latest patch. Trying to play multiplayer games with friends becomes a constant source of frustration because of the game crashes.
  4. There are endless network connectivity issues. The game constantly loses connection to the backend databases.
  5. The enemies in the game were tuned to be as threatening as possible based on the mods (gear augments) as they were at launch. However, the game company has continually changed and "fixed" the mods based on bugs they found after launch. Still, they haven't re-tuned the enemies to match the new state of the mods.
  6. When the game runs, the video lags and stutters continuously on high-end hardware that is fine for many other games.
  7. The damage scaling applied when playing with a friend has been and still is too much. As a result, a high-level player trying to help a friend out ends up dying more than a lower-level player.
  8. The game resets privacy mode to OPEN or CLOSED instead of reverting to the default value in your config options. I have had my privacy settings set to "friends-only"; however, every time I leave a group, the privacy mode is changed to either OPEN or CLOSED. My friends can't join me, or I have random players joining me.
  9. The cut scenes are beautiful, but I don't want to see the cut scenes every time. There should have been an option to skip the cut scenes since they launched the game.
  10. The "Challenge Tiers" are timed, but the game plays the cut scenes anyway, every time you play any Expedition, and the count-down timer is still running for the duration of the cut scene.
  11. The game is single-player with a cooperative mode to play with only two other players.
  12. The game doesn't feel like an open-world enough. All players have to be in the exact location all the time. One player can't go to town while another explores another map.
  13. The Legendaries are not very special. The bonus on many of the Legendary Sets doesn't increase damage or improve survivability. For the Pyromancer, there is only one recommended set to wear ( Acari ) even though there are at least four different Pyromancer sets. One of the sets makes your beam wider to hit more enemies; however, this legendary ability is useless when you have a single boss left to fight. All legendary sets should come with a bonus to survivability so that you can engage more enemies at once and a damage boost to a specific ability or gameplay style.
  14. The maps are too artistic, and there is no way to determine your location or direction. The game story is very linear, and the leader lines to the next quest are great; however, once you have completed the story and want to check out the side quests, it is hard to determine which way to go or where you are. The map only shows the general area you are in and doesn't show you the direction you are facing.
