Easily the best top-down RPG I have played. Great narrative, decent range of well developed characters, meticulously crafted environments.

Can be a bit cumbersome to learn the DnD oriented mechanics when first starting out, but they are intuitive enough and well integrated into the gameplay.

This remake does justice to the original, adding substance to the characters and story while preserving the original narrative. While you will recognise all the areas from the original game (with a massive increase in lighting and environmental fidelity), the overall layout of the USG Ishimura has been overhauled to great success, making transitions between levels/areas more immersive and fluid.

The graphics have been significantly improved, as well as the responsiveness of the player controls. Overall this game has been brought up to the graphical and gameplay standards expected of a 2023 game. Excellent work!

From an artistic point of view: brilliant. The music, story, and visuals came together to create something truly special. The soundtrack was so good that I purchased it on Bandcamp and still listen to it to this day.

From a technical point of view: not very good. Unfortunately this game appears to have been developed on Unity, which is already a big red flag. During my time with this game I experienced:

- Low frame rates (~25-30 fps) even with DLSS set to Ultra-performance.
- Frequent freezes that lasted several seconds. Often these would happen during cinematic sections, ruining the experience.
- Less than ideal mouse + keyboard controls. This game is clearly optimised for controller and/or touchscreen.

TLDR; A wonderful audiovisual experience marred by a bottom-of-the-barrel game engine.

For reference: the game was running at native 4K on an RTX3080, a PCI-E 4.0 NVME M.2 SSD, and a 5950X. I don't expect amazing performance from an RTX3080 at 4K, especially with RTX on, but this was a little too much. If anyone from Light Brick Studios happens to read this, please consider upgrading to a better engine for your future endeavours. Even with the multi-platform support that Unity offers, it's just not worth it.

Good for running in the background... Until the late game. Strangely addictive.

Spectacular game, visuals are on point, difficulty is challenging. This is a worthy successor!

Definitely one of the top titles in the series.

Simply stunning.

The audio, art work, graphics, and gameplay have been polished to a level of quality not often seen in side-scrolling platformers. This is a game that needs to be played in a dark room with minimal noise and distractions to fully appreciate the cinematic experience that it delivers. None of the puzzles were overly difficult, if you are spending more than about 5 minutes on one, you're probably overthinking it or missing a crucial detail! The story will definitely leave you with more questions than answers, most of which will have to be left to your imagination.

While relatively short, I found myself replaying it several times to unlock the secrets and to replay some of the more exciting segments. It also isn't the most optimised, and older laptops will struggle to run it at an enjoyable framerate without sacrificing resolution.

Conclusion: Excellent game, relatively short but very satisfying. If you liked Limbo, this is a game for you.

A fast-paced, side-scrolling arcade shooter, this is a game well worth getting. The gameplay and GUI is polished, and the difficulty levels are well balanced. Sweet graphics combined with some awesome weapons makes this a very cool game indeed.

No bugs to speak of.

Everything about this game is incredibly detailed: the cultures, the landscape, the dungeons and interiors. The huge island continent of Vvardenfel is filled with ancient ruins and different environments for you to explore - if you have the skills to defeat the foes that lurk within!

In many ways Morrowind is far more detailed than its sequels, with a more in-depth magic and skill system, more variety in quests, and more guilds to join. The more in-depth skill system does bring some complexity with it, it took me a few hours to get the hang of it. The text based interactions with NPC's allow for much greater variety in conversation and individuality.

The only downside is the janky combat system, with arrows passing clean through enemies and rather limited animations for melee weapons. However, this is easily overlooked when you consider everything else the game has to offer.

This is a spectacular game that is well worth playing. Be sure to download the official, free, DLC from the Bethesda website.

Early Access Review
Still in its early stages, but it is so much fun! Pretty much if you enjoy creating space stations and space ships, then introducing them to each other at high velocities, this game is for you.
