CS:GO Review
So I've left this game for about 3 months and just recently came back to it due to the new operation. I want to go over a few things in this review 1. Cheating, 2. Gameplay, 3. New maps, 4. . Now, Cheaters.. before I left I had not many but quite a few cheaters, maybe one every 4 or so competitive games, its still the same. Your experience with them may be different but it has not changed for me so cheating is still a problem in my book. Now with the Gameplay, its more or less the same of course I can tell some things changed I just dont know what yet as well as when the new operation hit it felt like they turned on mouse smoothing or something but it couldve just been initial performance issues. Ok so this is probably the most disapointing compared to new maps in valve games with the new Smissmas 2020 update in tf2 they released 4 amazing maps all of which showing new ways to play and refreshing some gamemodes for me and the new ones were fun as well, now you would think Valve would care for a much more popular, actively updated game, well yes and no? These maps look amazing no doubt about it but from a gameplay perspective they're lackluster. Ancient it's a good map, good flanks and hidey holes on every part of the map, you can surprise T side as a CT at any part of the map but I've noticed holding A site is much easier than B because you bottleneck that at Pillars right outside of A, and thats all for ancient, its a good map, with a good bit of variety. Now this one is uhm how do I say, not like csgo traditionally. CSGO has always been a very flat game (quite literally) with the exception of Nuke, the new map Engage is another game that changes in the way that you have to look up and down, on paper it seems like a very good map with a good veriety of height on A, and many places to hide and angles to hold on B, with Mid being a little bit of both. Now I have no problem with maps like Nuke, but the problem with Engage is how they did it, they had it to the point where I feel like its too easy to push out onto A and within the first 7 seconds already killed the 2 CT's on A or the more likely approach we get stuck on a high place killing ourselves from having no where to fall and dying because I'm a 3 health and I jump over the side of the stairs taking 3 damage and then dying. This map isn't necessarily bad, its just very crowded theres too much cover for T's on A site and not enough for CT's, and on B CT's over rely on the little room off to the left side of B and get killed or deterred by nades/moli's. For mid? Mids fine, its actually good infact just mid is only used to go B, you might as well kill yourself if your against a good team and you go mid to A. Engage overall is a decent map, just not the best that they couldve released. OK so for the third and final map released Frostbite, I may not be the best of Dangerzone players but I can play at the least. Frostbite looks beautiful for a csgo map (without so much fog of course) but its pretty much just Blacksite but snowy and more rural buildings than industrial buildings. I think its a better map than whats been released but its pretty much the same. And Apollo, Apollo looks great gameplay is average, Im not a big hostage player so I'll leave the more detailed reviews for other players. So this update didnt change a lot, not many of them do. But it added 3 new maps 1 of which isn't very good. OH WAIT the new gamemode f*ck I forgot about that, The Operation Blroken Fang "Broken Fang Premier Matchmaking, this is fun its (in my opnion) better than normal comp, you just 4 30 seconds timeouts and you eliminate maps at the beginning, I enjoy 10 plays choosing what map to play instead of just choosing what map to play, it adds more diversity in what maps I play. I say Valve outdid themselves with what they could release as well as just ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ over people who though this operation was going to be like the last one (lots of profit from buying the pass) So far it definetly isn't AS profitable but I can see you can make your money back. I just wish they'll do something new for the operation weeks for formatting, its kind of a lazy approach just laying them out week by week. Do something like Operation Hydra with a custom menu map. This is a fun game to play and the pass is worth buying if you just want a good time with friends.
